Cafes and Restaurants in Greymouth (Nz)

GREYMOUTH CAFETERIAS AND RESTAURANTS

There is certainly no shortage of places to eat and drink in Greymouth. They are scattered throughout the municipality, but deciding which one to choose will depend on whether you want a coffee / tea and a bite or a full meal. Many of these places have free WIFI and that would be a bonus in my opinion. Here’s my own personal pick: For a coffee and a bite, I’d go for Maggie, GAP, or Robert Harris’s kitchen. For a meal, a dinner, I would go to the Union Hotel, Stumpers Restaurant or Speights Alehouse. For a takeout, how about Bonzai’s Pizza? For something exotic, try the Sampan or Priya restaurant.

DP-One Cafe

On Mawhera Quay, near the Railway Hotel. This is an old fashioned cafe with a relaxing atmosphere with New Zealand music playing in the background.

Ali’s Eating and Drinking Cafe

This is around the corner from the BNZ in the town square.

Blanchfields

This is on Guinness Street. A very popular bakery for those looking for food for lunch or morning tea.

Bonzai Pizza

On Mackay Street, Bonzai runs a pizza delivery business.

Speight’s beer house

Also on Mawhera Quay, this place is a good place for a beer and lunch. It also has outdoor tables if you fancy having a beer or eating outside.

Robert harris

This cafe is on the east end of Mackay Street. Good place for a coffee and a cookie.

Maggie’s Kitchen

My favorite. This place is on Mackay Street across the street from Paper Plus. It has good meals at a reasonable price.

West coast vape

Nice little cafe that also has computers for internet access for $ 2

Stumper Restaurant

On the corner of Mackay and Albert Street, it does some very nice meals. Good place to dine without anything exotic on the menu.

Gap Cafe

Corner of Guinness and Tainui Street, right in the center of the city, this cafe has recently opened.

Sampan restaurant

Chinese and oriental cuisene. Sampan is on Albert Street.

Mega Booster 10

This place has a cafe if you fancy a coffee while shopping. It’s next to the garden depot.

Union Hotel

Herbert Street. Good place to eat. It has a real colonial touch.

Priya (Indian restaurant)

Priya is an Indian restaurant. It was on Tainui Street until it was destroyed by fire, but is now in temporary accommodation at the Regent Theater until it is rebuilt on Tainui Street.

Macdonalds and KFC

If you are a supporter of Macdonalds or KFC, you are in luck as they are close to the city center, near the main roundabout.
