Each week, the contestants perform in an acting episode and an evaluation episode. During the performance episode, contestants cover songs by artists like Nirvana, Bon Jovi, The Police, and The Who. Each week in the evaluation episode a finalist is asked to perform an encore to the song they performed the night before. The three finalists with the lowest votes are asked to perform a song of their choice in front of the judges and the audience. Occasionally a finalist is chosen to debut a new song of Supernova with the group members. The weekly elimination of a contestant is based on both performances.
