Garner State Park

The ever popular Garner State Park is located on the Frio River in Concan, Texas. The park covers an area of ​​1400 acres which includes 10 acres of river body along with the Frio River. Enjoy a variety of water sports here, including swimming, snorkeling, rowing, tubing, and fishing. In addition to water sports, the park offers many non-water related activities such as hiking, bird watching, and nature viewing. Park visitors can stay overnight in a rented cabin or pitch a tent at one of the campsites.

Colorado Bend State Park

Colorado Bend State Park opened to the public in 1987 and covers more than 328 acres of beautiful scenery in the Hill Country region of Texas.

Located in the desert is the old fishing camp. The trip to the campground at Colorado Bend State Park is an adventure in itself. To get to the camp, you’ll drive 8 miles along a gravel road through some amazing scenery. From January to April you can fish here, hopefully catching some white bass. If fishing isn’t for you, then take a guided tour of Gorman Falls, where Gorman Creek drops 60 feet into an area of ​​lush vegetation before flowing back into the river. Or you can take the famous Spicewood Springs hiking trail, passing through the vibrant park and crossing many streams along the way.

The Gorman Creek Trail is divided into two parts; one is only open for guided tours. Fed by Gorman Spring and other smaller springs, Gorman Creek drops 65 feet to form Gorman Falls. The guided tour is a 1.5-mile round trip that takes you to the beautiful Gorman Falls waterfall, created by a fern-covered limestone travertine.

Guadalupe River State Park

Located in Comal County in the Texas Hill Country, Guadalupe River State Park covers a 9-mile stretch of the Guadalupe River and offers visitors swimming and tubing opportunities.

White State Park

Sitting right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, Little Blanco State Park offers a series of levees which in turn have created some perfect swimming areas.

Mustang Island State Park

This state park has a 5-mile stretch of beach, offering visitors swimming, surfing, beachcombing, fishing, bird watching, camping, and many other outdoor activities.

Located within Lake Whitney State Park in north/central Texas, Lake Whitney is a deep, clear reservoir on the Brazos River. The lake offers diving and snorkelling and has a roped off area for swimming.
