Our research shows that most people use this abbreviation – PP in digital photography conversations to say the word “Photoshop” in short. It comes from the first and last letters of the word – P. Typically, Photoshop software is used in Professional Photography, because it offers many capabilities to optimize the image and obtain higher quality images.

Another use of PP with the subject of photography is when people are trying to say “Post-Processing” in short. In this case we speak of Post-Processing in Digital Photography or for short: “PP in Digital Photography”.

You can see the abbreviation PP, when it says “Photographic Process”. It means the processing, development of photographs. As we understand it, there is even a book, so named – “Photographic Processes”, that describes PP – Negative Color Processing / Color Inversion, Photograph Taking and Development. Color and black-and-white (black and white) prints and films are also processed.

And speaking of print processing we remember that there is another meaning of PP, which is used in digital photography conversations. That’s how it is! This is photo printer material or photo paper material. There are even some models of printers that are called “(something) PP”. One of them is a Canon model. You might hate us, but we feel the need to share with you, that there is another abbreviation for PP and it is for Pocket Pouch. Believe us, we think this is not normal either, but it is a fact. Pocket bags for your digital cameras may be offered on some sites or brochures as PP for digital cameras.

Believe it or not, but you may see PP as “pages” which also mean in Photography. There are many lessons, courses, lectures and articles that are written in different places, mainly on the Internet and are quotes from some photography books. When served by numbers, it is quite possible that PP is a page number. Most of the time it looks like this: pages 136-278, and it means, as you know, pages 136 to 278.
