A term insurance plan is the purest form of a life insurance policy. Here, the insured sum is paid to the nominee if death occurs to the insured person during the term of the policy. In the happy situation of the insured surviving the term of the policy, nothing is payable in most cases. In that sense, term insurance is conceptually similar to a long-term auto insurance policy. There are certain term insurance products in which the premium is returned to the policyholder if she survives the policy period. These policies are called Returned Premium Term policies and would obviously cost more than a pure term for the same level of life insured.

The basic objective behind a term insurance policy is that it should replace the financial loss that the death of a person creates for their family members. Thus, by definition, a term insurance policy is crucial for a young married man with young children, while it might be less important for a man nearing retirement with a significant amount of savings and well-established children. There are ten important factors that one should consider before purchasing a term insurance policy.

1. Sum Insured Level: A general rule of thumb is 15 times your annual income if you’re under 40, 10 times your annual income if you’re 40-45, and 5 times your annual income if you’re 45 or older. If you have a major home loan, you should have that loan covered through an additional credit life insurance plan, where the insurance company would settle the outstanding loan with your bank if there is a death. Another approach is Sum Insured = (total outstanding loans + amount required for children’s education and wedding) + (average annual consumption-related spending) *10. One should also keep in mind that one’s earning potential and expenses are likely to increase over the years, and that we have a high rate of inflation that will continually erode value. Rs 50 lakhs today may seem like a tidy sum, but twenty years later it might not be significant at all.

2. Policy Duration: The younger you are, the longer the policy duration you buy should be, timing it with your retirement age or the age at which financial liabilities are most likely to be reduced. A general rule of thumb that can be used is that the policy term should equal the Desired Retirement Age – Current Age.

3. When should I buy? The best time to buy a term insurance plan is NOW. This is because term plans get more expensive as you get older. The biggest risk is that one could contract certain diseases over time, which makes entering a term plan more difficult. The insurer may refuse to underwrite the risk or increase the premiums if you have reported any medical conditions. The future is uncertain while financial liabilities are predictable, and leaving behind a burdensome set of financial liabilities for dependents is irresponsible and avoidable.

4. Do I have to buy additional protection through riders? The riders of an insurance policy are similar to the extra toppings on a pizza. A pure insurance policy pays only in the event of death. But there may be situations such as a critical illness or a serious accident that can wipe out one’s earning power entirely. Passengers like critical illness passengers or permanent total disability passengers come to the rescue here. These clauses ensure that the sum insured is paid to the policyholder in the event of any of these unfortunate situations.

5. Who should I buy from: At the end of the day, an insurance contract is a trust contract between the life insured and the insurance company. You should buy your policy from someone you believe will best honor the contract at the time of the claim. You can check the IRDA site for claims payout ratios from life insurance companies. Estimates show that in 2011 around 16,000 life insurance claims will be denied. Price is also a very important variable. Term insurance rates have dropped significantly in the past two years due to price competition and increased life expectancy. So you have a wide choice of more than 20 insurers to shop from. Look around aggressively for the company offering among the lowest prices. Companies like Aegon Religare, ICICI Prudential, MetLife and Kotak Life have the cheapest rates.

6. Where should I buy? Since rates for term insurance can vary by more than 50% between different companies, it’s important that you do your research thoroughly before you buy. Your friendly local agent may not be the best person to trust for advice for two reasons: the plan he recommends may be too expensive, and he will most likely try to pressure you into buying some other product where his commission is. Is higher. Forward products have low commissions for agents. In the past two years, term insurance rates have dropped 40-50% due to increased competition and lower mortality rates. In our view, the best place to purchase a term insurance product is online for the following reasons:

  1. You can easily compare the features and price of different term insurance plans.
  2. It’s quick and simple, it wouldn’t take more than 10 minutes.
  3. The medical tests and the rest of the documentation will be managed by the insurance company itself at the home address.
  4. Certain companies like Aegon Religare, MetLife and ICICI Prudential have exclusive products only for online sales where the commissions are lower and therefore the product is cheaper than offline products. Sometimes the online version can be cheaper than the offline variant by up to 30%!
  5. Online products will gradually become cheaper than offline products as the buyer profile of online policies will have a lower risk rating.
  6. You can easily pay the premium by credit card or through the banking network

Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) estimates that around Rs 600 crores of insurance premiums were paid online in 2010. While a portion of that would be renewal premiums, a significant portion of that would be new health insurance policies. and term purchased online.

7.What information must I disclose? It is imperative that you disclose all relevant information truthfully. Even a small half-truth could be reason enough for the insurance company to deny the claim later. You should consider the following factors when completing the proposal form:

A. Reveal your medical history in detail: Do not hide anything. If you have a pre-existing condition, please state it clearly. In the event of a death that the insurance company believes is due to an undisclosed pre-existing condition, the claim will be denied. This is especially true in non-medical cases.

b. Share your family medical history too

against If you smoke or drink, state this clearly. Also indicate your physical parameters accurately: height, weight, etc.

d. Please indicate your income and occupation accurately. If your occupation exposes you to a higher risk (eg military, mining, etc.), please state this clearly

my. Clearly mention any other insurance policies you may have

F. Make sure you send genuine copies of PAN card details, birth certificate, proof of income etc.

gram. Try to fill out the proposal form yourself and don’t leave it to the agent

8. Multiple insurance policies: It is better to have two insurance policies of, say, Rs 25 lakhs each than to have one policy of Rs 50 lakhs. This way, you can have the option of continuing with lower coverage if you ever need reduced term insurance.

9. Who should be the beneficiary(ies) of the policy: The family members who would be most affected in the event of your death should be the beneficiaries. In most cases, it would be the spouse, children, or parents. You could also assign different percentages of the sum insured to the beneficiaries, for example, 50% for the spouse and 50% for the parents.

10. Pure Term Insurance or Savings Related Insurance Products: The primary purpose of life insurance is to provide financial protection to nominees. Only after the angle of protection covered through a term insurance plan has been completed is it necessary to consider accumulating savings or investments through a life insurance policy.

It used to be that people said there was 6 degrees of separation between everyone. A lot of people know that Kevin Bacon game that people play to prove it. They name a movie that so-and-so played with Kevin, who worked with your cousins, the gardener for your friends’ uncles, and BOOM… there you have it! Someone you know who knows someone who knows Kevin Bacon! There’s also the Hollywood version that proves that everyone in Hollywood is connected to Kevin Bacon through whatever number of projects they’ve worked on. You understand!

I am finding more and more that networking is one of the best business skills of all time. It can move mountains and create opportunities that didn’t exist until you meet that special someone. And now, with the power of the Internet, the world has shrunk so that everyone is one another’s neighbors. You can literally network on the computer with people to stay in touch with the PERSON you need to meet. It’s amazing!

We’re knocking on the door of the nice guys club and it feels GREAT!

But how do you get in? How do you get it started? Well, one way that I have found is to HIRE a professional Networker?

What are you asking and how is he different from a publicist or marketing person? In my opinion, Public Relations is how to position yourself or a company in the media or before the public. These people can be excellent sources for you. They will do articles that feature you or send out press releases about you or make calls for you.

Marketing people will do a similar job, but they will make more repeat calls and your or company’s branding.

The Professional Networker? They position themselves anywhere and let people know how good you are. As long as they know someone who fits the perfect customer profile, they’ll introduce you as a friend-to-friend contact. It’s much less intimidating and much more casual. You have to select someone who is a natural networker. Choose a person who is friends with the rich, famous and powerful. It doesn’t have to be the rich and powerful, just someone who isn’t afraid to meet them!

I’m one of those self-made people, I guess. I didn’t have any connection that pushed me to do anything I’ve done, but I was blessed with a good education, parents who supported me, and a mother who pushed me out the door when I graduated, but on top of that, I’ve been the one who has created and maintained my contacts over the years.

Just on a trip, the people I’ve met can help me or my clients so much! I met the president of the cell phone company that I need to get a new contract and phone from. I met the president of the textile company who could invest in another business of my friend who is raising money for his business. I put the textile president in touch with my friend Josh, the Broadway producer, who asked me if he would be interested in investing in a Broadway play.

Back at home, I actually get paid like a professional networker. I connect people to other people when they are trying to find people to sell or recruit to. I am also being considered for this position by a recruiting company.

The techniques I use are exactly the same as when I was a conference agent years ago. My job was to unite two people or two companies. The goal is to find out who needs what and who they need or want to know. As I get to know companies and their needs, I can automatically select from a mental list of people who would fit the position they are looking for. I’m not a full time recruiter, but I have the same skills and have been paid when I’ve made some decent connections.

Turns out I know a lot of people. I know people in almost every working profession in every walk of life. I know or have met people all over the country and most people are always up for meeting someone new.

Skills can be taught, learned and definitely used! It takes a lot of energy and follow through, but it’s worth it in the long run. These are some of the valuable connections I’ve made; some have brought me finders fees, some have not, but here they are:

o I’ve Got Up And Coming stars an agent. One became a gig regular on the Rosanne Barr show after I got her an agent. Others have made money for years from their public speaking.

o I have put a lot of people in radio and television because I introduced them to the presenters or the producers or the publicists

o I have helped financial companies recruit salespeople

o I have helped financial professionals meet new clients

o I have introduced men to women and women to men. (There is at least 1 marriage, but many great relationships were established!)

o I’ve hosted two TV newscasters in the same city who are on competing stations and I haven’t even been to their city!

o I have helped friends and clients get tickets to big events, met top notch attorneys, met business partners, helped get items for silent auctions, and helped moms find good babysitters.

Networking is the answer to your problem. If you need to meet more people, hire more people, recruit more people, or sell to more people, you can either become a networking expert or hire someone who is. Why cold call when you can walk in the back door? Working smart can save you time and can earn you money.

It’s time you started doing what the stars have known all along. It’s not who you know, but who you can KNOW that matters. So it’s all up to you!

Change is good.

Are you tired of the same old wall colors? Do you think that kitchen cabinets have become boring? Do you think the bathroom fixtures are old? If you think your home needs a little makeover, don’t hesitate to take on a home renovation project.

Why consider a Housing Reform Project?

As a homeowner, you can be thankful for your home. But, if you feel like your home isn’t special from the rest of the houses on the block, you can renovate it to suit your needs. A home renovation contractor can meet his goal and make his dream home a reality.

The changing needs of the family can be another reason to undertake a home renovation project. If you want to create a play area for children, you can discuss this with the contractor. Also, you can remodel the kitchen to accommodate the growing number of family members.

Homeowners who are thinking of selling their properties in the near future can make their homes easy to buy with the help of a contractor. In essence, if you’re not happy with your home, take on a home renovation project and turn it back into a happy living space.

How to make your home beautiful again?

Tearing down the entire structure and creating a new building is not the only way to beautify an old property. There are several cost-effective ways to make your home beautiful again. Here are a couple of ideas to help you create a happy living space for your family members:

· Livingroom

It is the area where you will entertain guests. A great looking living room is the perfect way to create a good impression on your guests. You can think of a coffered ceiling for the room to give it a royal feel. But remember that if you are planning to sell the property in the near future, it is advisable to go for conventional renovation projects like repairing structural cracks in the walls and painting them with beautiful colors. Installing wallpaper, furniture, and lighting fixtures can be other ways to accentuate the look of the room.

· Dining room

If your house has a dining room, you can embellish it in several different ways. Focus on the main dining table in the room. If it’s small to accommodate your family members, ask the contractor to build a bigger one for you. You may consider installing mood lighting for the room. Also, ask the contractor for information because they have the experience and skill to help you create a warm and comfortable dining room.

· The kitchen

You can consider a house extension project for the kitchen and make it bigger than before. It will help you install modern kitchen appliances. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on the kitchen, you can consider smaller renovation ideas like:

o Installation of custom paneled ceiling to give the room a feeling of royalty.

o Swap old kitchen cabinets for glass cabinets to create an illusion of space.

o Paint the kitchen area with light colors to make it more spacious.

o Installation of task lighting in the kitchen.

· The bathroom

A clean bathroom ensures that you feel rejuvenated at the end of a bath session. You can choose to change the old bathroom accessories. It won’t break the bank and will give your bathroom a fresh new look. You can install a bathtub and create your personal spa in the area. Using beautiful lighting fixtures is an additional way to beautify a bathroom space.

· The bedroom

The most important piece of furniture in the bedroom is the bed. You can build a bed that not only gives you a comfortable sleep, but also provides adequate storage space. Make proper use of natural lighting in the room so that you can save money on electricity. Ask your home renovation contractor to paint the room in calm, relaxing colors for maximum comfort.

If you’re not happy with the look of your home, you don’t have to leave it. Consider renewing it to meet your expectations. Remember that not all home renovation projects are expensive. Discuss your ideas, requirements and budget with the home renovation contractor to make your home a happy living space again.

With the passage of time, mobile Internet users have gradually increased and today the number of users who browse the Internet through desktop computers has been exceeded. Anticipating a further increase in mobile internet users, Google has announced a significant change to its algorithm in the form of mobile-first indexing.

What is mobile first indexing?

Until now, Google used to crawl your website and index it based on its desktop version. But now, it will index your website and rank it based on your mobile site content. This change of prioritizing the mobile version of websites in Google’s algorithm is called mobile-first indexing.

Essentially, all websites must comply with the rules of this new algorithm, if they want to maintain their Google search engine ranking and get organic traffic to their website through Google. However, if your site is not optimized for this new algorithm, you will likely get less traffic.

So, here are some tips to follow to make sure your site is ready for mobile first indexing:

Tip 1: Use a responsive design

Using a responsive website design is very important to maintain your website ranking. Responsive design means that your site must adapt to the screen size of all types, be it desktop, tablet or mobile. Responsively designed websites not only adapt to any screen size, but are also highly accessible and smooth on all types of devices and thus help retain your target audience.

Tip 2: Make sure your site loads faster

No doubt, the design of your site is very important, but apart from that, the speed at which your site loads on different devices is also crucial to the success of any website. So, you need to ensure fast loading time of your site not only on desktop but also on mobile. Today, users expect pixel-perfect images along with a split-second rendering time for most websites. Only if your site is fast will it have a lower bounce rate and invite higher engagement time, which is essential for your high search engine ranking.

Tip 3: Show the same content

Although Google hasn’t clarified much about its new algorithm yet, it has said this repeatedly: “Make sure you’re posting the same content on your mobile and desktop sites. That means articles, the same links, and the same features.” So it’s only in your best interest and according to Google’s algorithm to serve the same type of content that fits properly on your site as seen on all different types of devices.

It’s a good idea to follow the tips above to make sure your website is ready for Google Mobile-First Indexing before Google implements its new algorithm.

Allow your heart rate to gradually slow down before coming to a complete stop, as an abrupt stop can cause problems with blood circulation and sometimes fainting. Recently, everyone in the exercise and fitness industry seems to be talking about core strengthening. The core of your body, the area around your trunk and pelvis, is where your center of gravity is located. It is the nexus of all the movements of your body. A strong core gives you:

oGreater protection and reinforcement for the back.

oControlled movements, especially when reacting to changes of direction.

oA solid foundation for all body movements.

o Better posture.

The main muscles involved in core stability are the deep muscles of the abdomen and lower back, the gluteals, and the muscles around the hips and pelvis. Core stabilization helps you learn to use these inner muscles before beginning any other movement, so your spine is firm and your subsequent movements are smoother and more coordinated.

Why is core stability so important?

As chiropractors, we tell our patients time and time again that all parts of their body are connected, either directly or indirectly. This connection is called the kinetic chain. Its trunk (core) is where the kinetic chains meet. A weak link in one part of the kinetic chain can cause pain or injury in another part. Strengthening your core gives greater stability and power to the entire kinetic chain as you move. This leads to a decrease or prevention of low back pain; decreased chance of injury; increased strength and power for all activities; and increased confidence build greater strength and better balance.

How can I increase my core strength?

Core stabilization exercises are easy to do and can be done almost anywhere with little to no equipment. It’s more important that core-strengthening exercises are done well than that you do a lot of them. It’s a good idea to have a trained professional (chiropractor, physical therapist, strength and conditioning specialist, or personal trainer) check to make sure he’s using the correct muscles during each exercise.

Here are some simple exercises:

Transverse abdominal contraction:
Tighten your belly, imagining that you are pulling your belly button in toward your spine. Hold for 5-10 seconds, then relax. Repeat until your muscles are fatigued, and then add an additional repetition each day. You can do this exercise at work, while driving, or in line at the grocery store, and no one will ever know.

Bridge:

Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor. Draw your belly button in toward your spine, then lift your hips off the floor until they’re in line with your knees. Hold for 5-10 seconds and then lower your hips. Repeat until you are tired and then add a repetition each day.

prone plank:

Lie on your stomach, and then balance on your toes and elbows. Keep your body in a flat line. Try to hold this position for 30-60 seconds.

Quadruped:

Start on your hands and knees. Keep one arm straight and extend the opposite leg behind you at the same time. Hold for 2 seconds and then repeat on the other side. Repeat until you get tired and then add one repetition per day.

Stability Balls:

Basic exercises can be improved by performing them on large exercise balls. The challenge of balancing on the ball causes your body to use the deep muscles attached to the spine more effectively. It also makes exercises more fun and adds variety to your workout. Other basic tools to improve training include: BOSU (Both Sides Up) platforms; rocking and tilting boards; foam rollers; dyne discs; and foam mattresses. Try taking your regular weight lifting routine and doing it on one of these machines. You will surely notice the difference!

Core strengthening should be the most important part of your workout. It should be done at least three times a week. You should focus on replicating the activities you do on a daily basis. Remember, just as a house is only as strong as the foundation on which it is built, your body is only as strong as its core.

Complaints about rising rents from Dubai residents are increasing due to unreasonable increases being demanded by the landlord. There is no federal law that determines the rent cap, each emirate has its own laws.

For the emirate of Dubai, Law No. 26 of 2007 regulates the relationship between landlord and tenant and establishes rental rules. Regarding rent, the Supreme Court of the Union has indicated that “the effect of the provisions of a lease (lease contract) provided for in articles 742 et seq. of the Civil Code is that the rent is paid in consideration of the enjoy the leased thing”.

(It should be noted that the Dubai Law No. 26 of 2007 is applicable throughout Dubai, except for the areas covered by the DIFC zone, as real estate in the DIFC zone is regulated by the DIFC Law No. 4 of 2007) .

The law defines rent as a specified amount of consideration that the lessee is obligated to pay under the lease. The lease is the contract by which the lessor agrees to allow the lessee to benefit from the property for the specified purpose and period in exchange for a specified consideration and therefore the amount of rent will be specified. in the contract and will remain the same until maturity. of said contract.

In addition, the law provides for the determination of the value of the rent in the event that it is not provided for in the lease or when the rent is determined but it is not possible to prove it. In such cases, the Committee, that is, the Judicial Committee authorized to resolve disputes between landlords and tenants, must determine the rent of the property thus leased in accordance with the ‘similar rent’. The ‘similar rent’ must be specified by the committee in accordance with the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) rent increase percentage specification standards. In addition, the general economic circumstances in the emirate, the state of the property, the market rent in the same area and the existing legislation are factors that must be taken into account when determining the similar rent. RERA must establish criteria to determine rent increase rates in the Emirate, in accordance with the general economic conditions of the Emirate.

Any dispute related to the rental of the leased premises should be referred to the committee, as the committee’s jurisdiction includes all such disputes.

At the expiration of the lease, it must be renewed for a similar period and during the renewal the lessor can modify the contractual terms. You can review the rent you can keep at the same rent amount or you can increase or decrease it. The rent thus increased or decreased would be valid during the period of the lease. For the lease to continue in force, it is essential that the lessee agrees with the terms thus modified by the lessor, if the parties do not reach an agreement, the Committee may agree on a fair rent. If either party to the lease wishes to modify any of its conditions, it must notify the other party at least 90 days prior to the expiration date, but this condition may be waived by agreement between the landlord and the tenant. tenant.

The law also sets a ceiling on landlord rent increases so that landlords do not take advantage of the vulnerable position of tenants and exploit them through unreasonable increases in rent rates. Additionally, rent cannot be increased during a lease. It can only be increased after the expiration of the previous contract, so the rent will be maintained for a period of one year from the beginning of the lease.

In addition, the Dubai Decree No. 62 of 2009 relating to rental prices in the emirate of Dubai has fixed the maximum increase in rents for properties in the Emirate of Dubai according to the average rent of properties in the same area and the percentage difference between median income and current income. Thus, depending on the difference, the increase can be up to the following limit:

Yo. zero increase in rent in the event that the rent is up to 25% below the average rent of properties of similar specifications;

ii. 5% of the applicable rent in the event that the rent is 26% to 35% less than the average rent of properties of similar specifications;

iii. 10% of the applicable rent in case the rent is 36% to 45% less than the average rent of properties of similar specifications;

IV. 15% of the applicable rent in case the rent is 46% to 55% less than the average rent of properties of similar specifications; and

v. 20% of the applicable rent in case the rent is more than 55% less than the average rent of properties of similar specifications.

Apart from this, the Dubai government has provided us with an online rent increase calculator at the following website: http://www.dubailand.gov.ae/english/Tanzeem/Rentals/Rental_Increase_Calculator.aspx

The aforementioned government website provides a service to calculate increase percentages to obtain rental values in certain areas as a guidance tool. All the user has to do to use this service is to select the calculator from the website and enter the required details and then the increase limit and average rent for the requested area and unit will be provided.

Tips to avoid an illegal rent increase:

1. Make sure the landlord has notified you in writing of the proposed rent increase no less than 90 days before the end of the lease.

2. Verify that the increase amount matches the RERA rent calculator for your property.

3. If you cannot come to an agreement with your landlord on the amount of the rent increase, apply to the Rent Committee.

You’ve heard of people who are so good at sales that they could sell ice to an Eskimo, water to a fish, and prescription glasses to a blind man. Every business wants to hire such a salesperson for their products or services. Great sales producers like this are invaluable to the companies that have them.

For many businesses, the sell-at-all-costs approach can often come back to bite. The good salesperson is doing their job, but a problem arises when the products or services don’t live up to the sales rhetoric to attract the buyer. It is the result of a seller who oversells and overpromises but the products or services do not (or cannot) meet the buyer’s expectations.

This frequently happens with search engine optimization companies. It’s easy to tell people what they want to hear: “19 days to #1!” “Ranked in the top three!” “First page placement for all your key phrases” is something else to be able to fulfill such promise. In a previous article I debunked SEO’s top ranking guarantees. Others in the industry have discussed this topic quite extensively and even Google has weighed in with its own statement, saying that “no one can guarantee a number 1 ranking.” There are still many “SEO” companies that insist that they will magically make your site appear in the number one position. The truth is, they could actually achieve this, but for keywords that no one actually searches for, or for a very limited amount of time until their site gets banned in the process. And if the SEO doesn’t deliver on these promises, he or she will simply point you to the many loopholes that are spelled out in the fine print in the contract.

The SEO industry is aggressive; Every SEO’s motive is to convince potential customers that the services he or she provides are above those offered by competitors. This is why so many exaggerate with the promise of spectacular results that may or may not be achievable. Few SEOs go out of their way to provide a truthful assessment of what is possible and on what kind of timeline. New sites will take a year or more. Competitive industries require a larger budget. And, poor websites… well, top rankings can be achieved, but you may need to make drastic changes if you want to improve conversions.

SEOs who are honest with potential customers find that they lose many who are looking for a quick fix, instant results, or a guarantee. But they’ll also find that those who become customers have a better understanding of what’s at stake, how long it will take, and what kind of results to expect. And if you’re honest and capable, you’ll always be able to meet and often exceed customer expectations.

My company strives to inform our clients that we set benchmarks for achievement within the first year of your campaign. Today, 70% of our customers are performing better than expected, and more than 80% are performing at or above expectations. Yes, that means that 20% are currently performing below expected levels, but this is not necessarily a failure rate. It actually reflects the percentage of clients that aren’t performing as well as we expected, but many of them have shown significant improvement in targeted traffic and ROI since the start of the campaigns.

But this is something most SEOs won’t tell you, especially those who make pie-in-the-sky claims. They know they have oversold their service and have largely underperformed. When our clients call to inquire about their performance on the leaderboard, we provide them with an honest assessment, including letting them know if we think they should perform better. We’re also letting you know that your site is being aggressively tested, tuned, and linked and we hope you’ll be up and running at or above benchmark levels soon. We are rarely wrong.

We are guided by the Scottie Principle, based on Scottie from the original Star Trek series, which is about underestimating your capabilities and then overcoming it. While the client may expect certain results in higher rankings, you can achieve more if you really helped them increase their sales and ROI. If you can do that, top search engine rankings don’t matter as much because the customer is busy driving the new sales they get as a result of optimization and marketing efforts.

SEOs don’t need to go overboard by making promises and raising expectations beyond their ability to deliver. Those who educate clients, provide an accurate assessment of expectations, and then work aggressively to achieve results beyond those expectations will find that they have less to worry about getting their next client to replace the three who just left. Instead, the focus can be on developing and maintaining a strong, profitable relationship with each client for years to come.

History of the curling iron Is there such a thing or is the curling iron just a modern invention? Every generation is the same. We think we have invented something new when perhaps all we have done is modify “old inventions” by applying modern technology. Let’s start digging into the history of the curling iron, or as it’s also known, the curling iron.

Let’s start with the definition of a curling iron. It is a tool, a cylindrical metal apparatus, used to change the structure of the hair by applying heat to a strand that has been curled around it. It is natural to think with a modern mind and assume that heat is generated by electricity. However, the curling iron dates back long before the introduction of electricity.

We only have to look at the carvings of the ancient world to see that people cared about the style of their hair and that a popular style was to create curls. Babylonian and Assyrian men dyed their hair and square beards black and curled and curled them with curling irons. Persian nobles also curled their hair and beards, staining them very often.

Egyptian noblemen and women kept their hair close-cropped, but later, to maintain coolness and cleanliness in their hot climate, they shaved their heads. On ceremonial occasions, to protect themselves from the sun, they wore wigs. Wigs would be short and curly or long and full of curls or braids. The Science Museum has an example of the curling tongs used by wealthy Egyptians to prepare their wigs.

In classical Greece it is known that the upper classes used curling irons.

Many methods have been devised over time to curl the hair and hold the curl in place. For example, in 1906 Charles L. Nessler, a German hairdresser working in London, applied a borax paste and curled hair with a flat iron to produce the first permanent waves. This expensive process took twelve hours. Eight years later, Eugene Sutter adapted the method by creating a dryer that contained twenty heaters to do the job of crimping more efficiently. Sutter was followed by Gaston Boudou, who modified Sutter’s dryer and invented an automatic roller. By 1920, Rambaud, a Paris beautician, had perfected a system of curling and perming hair for softer, looser curls using an electric hot-air dryer, an innovation of the time by Racine Universal Motor. Company of Racine, Wisconsin. A significant breakthrough came in 1945, when the French chemist Eugene Schueller of L’Oréal Laboratories combined the action of thioglycolic acid with hydrogen peroxide to produce the first permanent cold wave, which was cheaper and faster than earlier processes. in hot. To control the amount of curl, variable diameter winding rods were used. Technology for holding hair in place advanced in 1960 when L’Oréal Laboratories introduced a polymer hairspray to serve as an invisible net.

The curling iron has remained a favorite tool despite all the chemical inventions. We have moved on from metal rods heated by insertion into hot coals or heating on gas or electric stoves. Without control of the heat of the iron, there must have been many instances of singed hair, not to mention burned fingers and scalp! Today’s styles demand more control and flexibility of styling hair with loose hair rather than “glued in place.” Electric heated and electronically controlled irons and flip flops are now available. The barrels come in different sizes that allow for finishing tight or loose curls. Some have a smooth, easy-glide ceramic barrel to create a super-smooth finish, and you can also buy curling tongs with a cone-shaped clip to create loose waves and tousled curls. The fluctuation in hair styles from curly to straight and back means manufacturers will continue to dream up new innovations to appeal to both professional stylists and the consumer.

So who “invented” the curling iron? You will inevitably find many references to “invented” and “patented by” or “introduced by”. The original inventor is lost in the mists of time, but examples of the above award are:

In 1866, Hiram Maxim, who designed the machine gun that bears his name, applied for and was awarded the first of many patents at age 26 for a hair curler.

Four years later, in 1890, two Frenchmen, Maurice Lentheric and Marcel Grateau, used hot air dryers and heated tongs to create deep, long-lasting Marcel waves.

However, the straightening comb is credited with being first invented by the late 19th century French hairdresser Marcel Grateau, who also invented the curling iron, the permanent wave, and later the Gillette safety razor, which became popular in Germany after World War I.

In related developments, Rene Lelievre and Roger Lemoine invented an electric curling iron in 1959.

Theora Stephens patented the curler/presser on October 21, 1980.

In August 1987, the Wahl Clipper Corporation introduced the ZeeCurl to the professional market. This flat barrel curling iron gave stylists a tool to create new hairstyles with Z-curls, adding texture and body to all hair types. In 1988, FrenZee, the consumer version, was added.

There is no doubt that fashion will demand and dictate new innovations to ensure the continuation of the curling iron story.
