I often hear of wives trying so hard to pick up the pieces of their lives and move on with dignity and grace after their husband cheated on them or had an affair. But, no matter how well-intentioned or determined, this can be easier said than done. Your head can understand things that your heart cannot. You can have a steely resolve in the morning only to fall apart by nightfall.

And while your husband may tell you all those things he thinks he wants to hear, listening is very different from believing. I often hear comments like “my husband ended his affair. He says he now realizes he made a mistake and that he loves me. He says he’s putting our family first. And all of these things sound great. But, I know too much.” about the other woman and about their relationship. She’s young. She’s pretty. She’s carefree. He treated her like gold and risked everything for her. I know I can’t compete with that. And it makes me feel second best. I know my husband is in home and he’s doing what he thinks he’s supposed to do. But I can’t help but wonder if it wasn’t for the kids, if he’d still be here. I feel like I only have him back by default. How can I stop feeling second best and not having him back? Am I good enough? He’s not telling me this, but I feel the same way.”

These concerns are very common. Wives who are trying to recover from an affair question everything about themselves, their marriages, their husbands, and the feelings of that same husband. Infidelity feels like complete rejection, even when your husband will put on that this is not the case. You may, like many, feel like you’re what’s left when things didn’t work out. And this is terribly painful. The thing is, it’s very unfair for you to have to carry these feelings with you when you weren’t the one who set this whole thing in motion. In the next article, I’ll discuss some ways to stop feeling second to none after your husband had an affair.

Focus on what makes you feel better instead of what makes you feel worse: At the risk of sounding insensitive, I know from experience that it’s all too easy to focus on what feels worst. Even if you know it’s not productive, even if you know it’s not moving you forward, the thoughts that hurt the most are the ones that keep popping up more often. And it is very tempting and easy to stop at them.

It is very tempting to sink into it. Because you don’t know how to start unearthing yourself and no matter what you do, the thoughts keep coming. So to break this cycle, you have to react as soon as you find the thoughts coming. Replace bad thoughts with something that makes you feel better about yourself. So as soon as you have a thought or feeling that makes you feel like second best or not good or attractive enough, do something that makes you feel proactive.

This requires practice. It may seem silly. And honestly, sometimes it’s easier to give in to the negative. But in my experience, when you start to be proactive and take positive action in response to negative thoughts, you start to remove the power over negativity. Here is an example. In my own experience, when those sabotaging thoughts arose, I would stop what I was doing and go for a walk. Or I would exercise. Or maybe I would call a friend who is supportive and non-judgmental. Or I would go to the game room with my children. Basically, I would find something to derail my thoughts and make myself feel like I wasn’t giving in to them.

In the end, walking and exercise turned out to be a good decision because I lost weight and toned up. This changed my appearance a bit and gave me more confidence, which led me to make more changes in my life. The weight loss added to a new way of looking at my appearance, myself and what I was representing to the world. Because what you portray to the world can become the way you see yourself.

Once you see yourself in a more positive light, you start to be much more protective of your peace of mind and well-being. And you begin to see those negative thoughts as the enemy that you are not going to let invade that much-fought peace of mind. This doesn’t happen overnight, of course. It is a difficult process and takes time.

But fighting every step of the way and making sure you’re moving toward the positive gives you the sense of control you deserve. No, you had no control over his infidelity or affair. That was the action she intended to take without his input. But, you have control over your OWN thoughts and actions. And you can’t feel second best unless you allow those thoughts to take root. When you start to feel second to none, it’s up to you to take steps to derail this until you regain some control and grow to a point where you start to know and believe that this is simply not true.

Consultant ‘Profit Enhancers’

When an organization hires IT or management consultants, line managers must ensure that the consultants deliver the promised results. In this article, I summarize six techniques used by consultancies to maximize their own profitability. Some of these are just business insights, some are dishonest, some are fraudulent, all are widespread in the consulting industry. By making organizations aware of these practices, I hope they will be better prepared to pay for their consultants’ often generous fees and expenses.

1. Excessive profitability
Typically, a junior consultant will be paid around £30,000 ($45,000) a year. So, with social and other costs, the consultancy may be paying around £1,000 a week. But typically they will be charged at over £7,000 ($10,000+) per week to private sector clients; For larger public sector projects, some consultancies will drop to £5,000+ ($7,500) per week. A more experienced consultant may cost the consultancy £2,000 ($3,000) per week, but can be billed at upwards of £12,000 ($15,000+) per week. So, while many manufacturing companies get gross margins of around 80% and retailers are around 100%, management consultancies typically target gross margins of 500% to 800%, quite a striking difference and huge relative to the margins any of our clients would ever make. Surprisingly, very few clients do the simple math and ask why they should pay more than £300,000 ($450,000) a year for an inexperienced junior consultant who is probably paid just over a tenth.

2. Maintenance of bonuses for travel expenses
Last year, three consultancies agreed to pay a former client around $100 million in compensation, when they were sued for “unfairly enriching themselves at the expense of their clients. The claim was that for a decade the three firms worked with outside providers, such as airlines and travel companies. agencies to obtain discounts of up to 40% on airfare and other costs that were not passed on to customers.

The way this works is simple. The consultant establishes an agreement with a travel agency, hotel chains and the main airlines for a year-end discount. The consultancy bills the client for full travel and accommodation costs, sometimes even adding an administrative charge. At the end of the year, the consultancy receives a reimbursement from the travel providers. None of this refund is returned to customers who paid for all travel and accommodation in the first place. The defendants claimed that they had “discontinued this practice”, however this is contradicted by a recent email from a consultant for one of the companies, “This is how we do it every time. We state in our contract that we will bill for ‘actual’ expenses. Then we bill them for their air travel expenses. Then we get a bribe on their air ticket. But we don’t pay the customer back for the bribe.” A British consultant estimated that his employer had stolen more than £20 million from a single client in this way.

3. Billing for non-client work
In most consultancies, partners or directors divide their time among their various clients and allocate a certain number of days each month to each client, even when this time is not spent working for that client. In addition, you will often find ordinary consultants who are told to charge clients for the time they put into the internal consulting business. To quote a consultant from a company with over 100,000 employees, “I was in an internal meeting with over 100 consultants. The partner told us to charge the day to the project so we can bill the client, since it was almost the end of the day.” quarter and we needed to do our numbers. This seemingly innocuous decision alone has likely cost the client over £100,000 ($150,000).

4. Overcharging for overheads
In many consultancies, clients pay fictitious overheads. In a major consultancy, an additional 10% was automatically added to the consultancy fee supposedly to cover overhead costs. So each consultant costs £300,000 ($450,000) a year, clients would also be billed another £30,000 ($45,000) to pay for administrative overhead. However, the London office, for example, had around 300 consultants and around 50 administrative support staff: secretaries, receptionists, human resources, bean counters, marketing support, resource managers, trainers, data center researchers. information and document production. However, with the 10% top-up, our clients were charged the equivalent of about three hundred administrative employees; therefore, the salaries of up to two hundred and fifty support staff were not being spent, as the staff simply did not exist.

5. Relocation of staff
Many management consultancies are international, moving their staff around the world at the expense of their clients. On a £2.3 million ($4 million) project I helped sell in Britain to a regional health authority, the consultancy was understaffed in the UK. As our CEO wrote in an internal memo, “The project was carried out at a time when we still had strong support from American expats. Naturally, we housed them and their families and a portion of these costs were charged to the client”.

So our NHS client had to pay thousands of extra pounds a week for these imported consultants in what a subsequent official investigation described as “a financial fiasco”.

6. Cheating on flat-rate spending
Frequently consultancies will agree with the client that the expenses will be around, for example, 12% of the fees. Each week the client will be billed for this 12%, then at the end of the project there will be a reconciliation between the 12% paid by the client and the actual expenses incurred.

On a project for a leading manufacturer of military aircraft, missile systems and satellites, we had agreed to 12%, but were actually only executing 7%. The VP of Accounts informed the rest of the consultancy that he had room to absorb expenses from both other projects and our head office, rather than pay the client back.

Very occasionally, clients audited our expenses. If they found some real horrors, we would simply say there was a clerical error and return the minimum necessary to keep the customer happy.

For more than twenty years I had always been very curious about building a guitar. He had played acoustic guitars for almost as long as he could remember. He had a great partner who lived on the street and we did everything together, so when he announced that he was going to learn to play the guitar, naturally, I didn’t want to be left out! We bought a couple of new guitars and practiced hard together, even on a cold winter night. We went to the local laundromat to practice when our parents kicked us out! ……Yes, my enthusiasm has never waned throughout my great hippy youth. until today, where I find myself living on a yacht in Australia with eight wonderful guitars at the unreliable age of fifty-eight… I’m even still doing some gigs!

But I digress! no matter how many guitars I’ve owned over the years…and I’ve owned a few…I’ve always had a secret desire to build one for myself. I imagined with pride how he would carve it all with love, encrust it with black coral, turquoise, silver and shimmering mother-of-pearl. But, whenever it came to the crisis, I just didn’t have the balls to really get stuck in and deal with it.

It’s wrong? I couldn’t figure it out. I had accomplished many other things that I had set out to do throughout my journey through life. He had built a 43-foot yacht, for one thing. I had learned that to finish a project was to tell every living soul that I knew I was going to do it… that way, I knew that later, when my enthusiasm waned, I just had to do it, if I didn’t, I would get the reputation of “will be, want to be” loudmouth. I secretly thought it was my “insurance policy”! It really helped for sure.

However, as much as I loved to play, my life was turned upside down when I finally went to see a great Australian guy named Jeff Lang play a concert in my hometown. I sat mesmerized, spinning, totally blown away by the rich, vibrant, fresh sound that seemed to spring out of this amazingly shaped lap steel guitar.

It just didn’t seem possible that a guitar could sound so complete, so haunting, so melodic, to tell the truth, I was so overwhelmed with it all, I felt tears running down my face, I felt so silly… Well, what a state to get into! It was a big crossroads in my guitar playing!

This incident never left me the same again… I wanted one of those Weissenborns so much that it hurt. I felt like I couldn’t face my other guitars again. I got mad, we didn’t talk for a few weeks… but I gave in, I had to. I had wanted a Taylor all my life…now she got it, was she never going to play? again? Something was different though… I wanted to play that damn thing like I’ve never wanted to play before, so I did, you better believe it. I don’t even want to think about how long and how many hours it took me to start getting better, but I did very well.

I have taken all this time to get to the point of this article. I had overcome the indecision that had haunted me… I couldn’t afford two or three thousand dollars to buy a good lap steel. No way.
Fortunately I have a great friend in Luthier Kim Hancock from Tamborine Mountain in Queensland. Kim, a kind soul together with his two boys (also fearsome luthiers) Dane and Sean, build guitars that are already established among the best in the world market…

Kim was really encouraging and gave me my first secret, without knowing it. If you start it up and fill it up… so what? It’s just a piece of wood, see what you did wrong, throw it away and ask for another piece… simple! Then get it right the second time!

The second secret came right after the first! Don’t let the project intimidate you… take control of it… you are the master, it is the subject.
The best secret of all came about when I started building… I remembered the words during our conversation a few weeks earlier… Treat each stage of construction as a separate project. The back, the sides, the bridge, the headstock… a separate project. See, that’s a good secret, I guess. That way, you can see building as many small projects instead of one big overwhelming monster… Hey, and give yourself a reward every time you complete one of those stages… a beer, a lollipop, go out to people. Don’t get cheap!
The next secret is this: during construction there is always something that will stop you in your tracks. In my case it was “How the heck am I going to get the rear seam perfect or the front seam, by the way?” Well, my secret was in the fact that I had a good book on how to make guitars that Kim gave me. The answer was there! Attach some sandpaper to a straight-edged spirit level and then sand each section smooth as a baby’s bottom… see, simple when you know how!

So, find a way to solve each problem by thinking about it carefully… there is always a way to solve every problem you encounter, it may not always be the way you had imagined! Oh yes, the name of the book is “A guitar Maker’s manual by Jim Williams”. You can get it on Kim Hancock’s site.
[http://www.Australian] Luthiers supplies.com.au Let me just say there are no plans for a Weissenbourn there though, you can get them from StewMac in the US or from other suppliers.

The final secret is really simple: make a firm decision to go all the way. In fact, I live on a yacht in a marina. I almost talked myself out of building the guitar over and over again. I’ve heard so many times “How can I build a guitar if I don’t have a shed, bench saw, etc.?” BS people, BS with a capital BULL. Make the most of what you have, have your lumber supplier cut the lumber to size, then plan so you don’t need all that expensive equipment. Man, THEY have it all!

There are also a few more secrets… I have written a book “How to Build a Weissenborn Guitar” that will give you some more lights to shine in those dark corners of that mind of yours. To help you do this! This guitar is really basic, just like the originals, no fillets, no braces (they don’t need them), very simple but the sound! YES haha!
It tells you how to build your dream guitar at your own pace right there, at home, in the garage, or on the floor, with a minimum of tools and experience. I now have a site about building called http://www.buildaweissenborn.com which you can also see in the author resource box.

There are some pictures of my new weissenborn in there, done by the way, with Australian Maple (a cousin of Koa) and an Indian Rosewood fretboard that doesn’t actually have any frets and may never have!
Finally, I hope that any of you reading this article want to know how my Weissenborn turned out…amazing! It’s the loudest guitar I’ve heard in thirty years of playing… I can barely sing with the sound! and that’s saying something because I have a strong voice… it’s not a good one folks, but it’s strong! It’s been a leveling but amazing experience, thanks again to my good mate Kim Hancock for all the help and advice he so generously gave me, especially when I didn’t have to!

I reached the shores of my homeland, Africa, and the home of my ancestors, Nigeria. I am proud to be home, immersed in the excitement of the many celebrations, coupled with the rare sounds of greetings and cheers that almost make me forget that I am once again among my friends and comrades. In the culture of each race, all that is peculiar in its sciences and arts, and etiquette is the remix of its cultural and customary relationships, and its affiliations with abnormal phenomenon and reverence. In the cradle of all this recklessness, the wife of nature has always been the human race that had served like the proverbial David of the Bible, like his master King Saul, just there to better serve him, plucking the strings and reciting the skilful psalms to conjure up such a spirit counteracting the spirit of the troubled soul, infested by God, as punishment for sins of disobedience.

Like the gibberish of nature, the only medicinal herbs to refresh the afflicted soul is surely cold music, the only way to stir the mad mind is that particular thing destined to strangle the bones and dance like the lizards of the shores of hegemony and styles. Every human species of homo-sapiens has a dull memory for thinking; perhaps you know that through the shield of reasoning, something peculiar has made humanity great in the field of unity, war, economy, power and peace. Today I lack the words, or those adjectives that I will use better to describe exactly the metaphysical meanings of what the music should have been.

I will define music as the eternal mysteries brought to the material plane through the mental processes aided by a kenotic jar composed of synoptic nerves, brain tissues, and blood vessels running through veins, arteries, and larger plumen veins. This most fascinating episode is the ability to solve human problems and serves as a common language where all men and women, all species, even animals in the new world order, have come to understand. If this is true, then humanity is not far from its victory over war and pestilence. If we are to succeed in our peaceful world order, then we must find a uniform agreement to resolve our conflict. And this was exactly my stand during the world conference on peace and conflict resolution, I was sure that if football and sports in general could increase the global relationship and served as a platform to ensure that all the nations of the world, even those who are at war, participate. in this outcome oriented goals. Because through sport, a gap of social inconsistencies is filled, ethical standards are agreed upon through a unified consensus, and politics grows by a large percentage increase per capita. Therefore, it means that the standard of living per capita in a certain locality is increased through sports by more than 234.87% and this, of course, is a productive result and a success. Among the general sports that football includes, music is supreme, because in music the life of a nation is born and destroyed, whether you agree or not, that is my opinion.

Music can be defined by some, and to some, they are fools on the proper definition of Music. Some people think that singing is fun and part of the random human life to survive, so they say. But hey, you know what I think about this? I believe that Music is beyond fun, it is trapped in the spirit of Humanity, because through it flows the Para-crux soul. When people sing, they think that all they do is sing and people listen to their music, whether it’s in the natural voice and what ways it could come from. But I have a different opinion on this; however, it is not general, but it can be right or wrong, it all depends on how people perceive it in terms of our views of reasoning.

Music is like the simple illustration of the psychological TAT (Thematic Aperceptual Test), which is used to assess IQs in most cases. When you put together a music contest for people to choose, they will surely choose differently, at least we all have our physical and biological otherwise physiological mindset and body frames. It also comes down to the biochemical reactions within the innate man, as they say. People who sing, they don’t do it simply because they love it, no, that’s not what drives them to music or to sing, but they are showing the uncontrollable almost controllable in them. As they sing, a mystery of the inner world is revealed and, through poetic diversity, is somehow exposed to audible ears for the first time.

From the realm of music comes the power that makes this flow perfect, and it’s the lyrics and the vibes. They come in layers like the sounds and the melodies, the tracks, even themselves, all of this combined to make us dance without sometimes understanding what we are dancing towards. In our current world of ICT, modern and sophisticated science and technology, which the apologists of modern science call “Jettism”. Music has both healing and destructive powers. When we hear both side effects, they are advantages and disadvantages in themselves. When you listen to any of them, the magical flow is usually generated, and it marks from the ordinary to the extraordinary in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.

From the world of reason to the world of ideas; Plato was central to this statement when he said that whatever we do, there is something that is not part of any created thing. We see it as being created by our effort through talents, and in these ranks; music, art, intelligence and celebrity. We also go from here to say that we are demigods and we should be worshiped by this same god itself. We cannot lord it over what we do not see, at all; Rather, they lord it over us, because they are the threshold that determines our reality. So, in essence, music comes from the world of perfection, also called the real world, the world of purity. Music is pure, and no matter what source it comes from, it is pure. But even in the purity of this rhythm, there is NESS and Clemency of Un-NESS.

Music is like laughter in verse, when it arrives it takes over our being and consumes the soul; encloses in the corridors of contemplations and wonders. When the spirit of the music finally takes full control, the soul is nowhere to be found. The soul is hidden for a great spirit to take the preeminence. And whatever this spirit is, whether it’s music, inexplicable joy and euphoria, I don’t care, but as long as it can enclose the soul and wander for a long time in the purity of the human psyche; therefore, let me say that this is Lord over Man, and the caretaker of Humanity here on earth. When he is ready to activate her life force, everything but her moves, while everything remains motionless except what she has possessed, which in this case is the human psyche.

Even so-called Religion bows before this Force and spirit. At the height of his reason, Saint Augustine compared music as “with the unparalleled”, here he managed to warn our church fathers that without music and without strings of time it is unlikely, because only the incorporeal can interfere and rule over what corporeal.

The music debate has never been won by any contemporary music critic. True music critics are like atheists, who believe in the non-existence of GOD, but when asked how he came to exist, they stand firm in their ugly rigidity to pronounce and support Mendel’s theory as evidence for their claim. and evolutionist of the eighteenth century. To say that music is crazy is to look in the mirror and wonder who you are, or where you come from. This is pure irony!

But what else can we say other than that music is here to stay, and as far as I’m concerned, in my professional opinion, music is all that is and all that exists at the beginning of time. In the beginning, God formed the worlds and all that is in them out of sounds, and through the chains of eloquent plays of sounds, and the coefficient of effervescent musical patterns, the very structures of the earth, the heavens and the sky. firmament. he was formed.

In short, music is what has become the global language that every human entity seems to understand. I believe that if men are careful enough, what happened in the biblical context with the tower of Babel will happen in the same way if man is careful enough to dramatically evoke the healing flows of Music, correcting all the errors of the humanity through this united spirit.

I’ve finished!!!

I often hear from wives who feel they are not being treated fairly after their husband cheated on them or had an affair. They are often quite hurt, disappointed, and still reeling, and yet they can feel a lot of pressure to just pick themselves up, dust themselves off, and move on, even when they feel like doing anything but.

I recently heard from a wife who said, in part, “my husband had an affair last year. Right after, I kicked him out because I couldn’t stand to watch it. But my kids suffered as a result. And, if I’m honest, I have to admit that I I missed him too and finally realized that I don’t want to sacrifice my marriage. So I eventually let him move back home. But once he did, it was like he expected me to just put on a happy face and act like he loved her. adventure would never have happened. I just haven’t been able to do that. I’m still angry. I’m still disappointed. I need to see a lot of regrets and changes in him. But he doesn’t seem to want to hear this. Even my friends tell me he’s not going to be patient with me forever. I’ve had male friends who have cheated on their own wives and tell me they eventually left their wives because they just couldn’t keep her thinking about it all the time. They advise me to take the right path and resist the urges that I have to continue. act like the other woman or question my husband about the affair. This frustrates me a lot. Why do I always have to take the right path and pretend everything is okay when it’s not? My husband still hasn’t done enough to make it up to me. Why does he get away with Scot?”

As a woman who has cheated on myself, I fully understand these concerns. Often, it is not fair for a wife to be expected to go her way before she is ready or wants to. I will discuss more about this matter in the next article.

If you still don’t feel ready or able to take the right path, find a compromise: I agree that there is often a double standard with the case. It’s almost as if the husband and society give the wife a very fixed and short amount of time to “get over it” and when that time is up, then the wife should drop the bets and move on. Wives who feel this is unfair would surely be right. It’s not. So what if you’re being pressured to get on the right track and move on, but she feels like this is unfair and she’s not ready? Try to find some committed.

Because at the end of the day, both sides have some merit. I 100 percent understand your right to feel exactly how you feel for as long as you need to. I also understand your right to continue asking questions for as long as necessary. Yet at the same time, I hear from many men who tell me that no matter what they do, say, or try, his wife seems determined to hang on to the affair for life. They also say that despite their best intentions and their love for their wife, they are not sure how much longer they will be able to have patience because they are living a life where their mistakes are always thrown in their faces and they live feeling horrible. on themselves 100 percent of the time.

So you can see how both people are entitled to their feelings. That is why an engagement can be the best scenario. Find out from her husband what bothers her the most. This could be that you continue to ask questions that he has already answered or that you always bring all the issues back to the issue. Some people find success by setting aside a set time to go over any questions or problems that have to do with the adventure. Perhaps you sit and talk once a day or even once a week when recovery has begun. That way, she knows she’s going to get her opinion and the chance to ask questions, while her husband knows he’s going to get a reprieve, so he’ll probably have more patience during the set time they talk about it. .

Now, this doesn’t mean you have to sit back or bottle up your feelings, but it might be a good idea to limit them to a certain time. However, it’s important to get them out and work on what’s causing them because you don’t deserve to feel them forever.

Why taking the right path (when you’re ready) benefits you as well as your husband: Please listen to me for a minute. I really know how frustrated you are feeling right now because I’ve been there. And I know how tempting it can be to feel self-righteous because you are the one who has been wronged and you deserve to feel and express how you feel. I don’t disagree in the slightest.

But I can tell you that holding on to hurt and pain can actually be just as damaging to you as it is to your husband. If you don’t allow yourself to move forward because you hang on to questions or concerns that you may never get satisfactory answers to, you may be delaying your own progress and relief.

You deserve to be happy again. You don’t deserve to live the rest of your life always feeling doubt and confusion over your husband’s mistake. He would never deny his need for answers or demand that he take the right path when he is not ready to do so. However, there really is something to be said for trying to find the positive in the situation and trying to move forward however you can. Because living inside the aftermath of an affair is downright miserable sometimes. So you really want to put all of that behind you as soon as you can.

Charice Pempengco is a vocalist from the Philippines known for singing on The Ellen Degeneres Show and other famous TV shows, as well as being a guest on various talk shows in the United States. Known for her smash hits like Pyramid and Louder, not many people know about her life story that begins with humble beginnings.

Charice was a girl who always had a beautiful voice. She joined contests constantly from the age of 7 to 13. The only difference between Charice and many other singers was the simple fact that she was not as beautiful as many other Filipinos. One of the hardest times for her would be when she would lose to other singers in local contests who were never really good but won because of her looks.

One of the most popular times this happened was when he joined the famous talent search show in the Philippines, titled “Little Big Star”. She offered young children and teenagers in the Philippines the opportunity to showcase their vocal skills and make their mark in this industry. When she first joined the show, she was kicked out at the audition entrance (without singing) simply because she “didn’t have the look they were looking for”. After negotiating, she was given the chance to audition for the show. After a lot of luck, she was able to take home third place, but the sad fact is that the winner was simply a dancing vocalist that she won because of her charming looks.

After only two years of losing in that competition, she appeared as a guest on The Ellen Degeneres Show, and later found success with guest appearances on Oprah and a wide variety of other shows across the United States.

However, it was not just his appearance that caused him problems and difficulties in the music industry; it was also the cause of having an abusive father while he was growing up. Her father abused her mother until she was three years old, and it was during this time that they moved out. With the money and fortune taken from her father, they were left penniless, having to live with Charice’s grandmother and later having to stay in a much smaller house. This was one of the biggest obstacles for Charice, her mother and her little brother Carl. Charice sang to earn money for her family where she entered contests for cash prizes, which in turn would help pay for food and lodging. It wasn’t until Charice joined big contests like Batang Kampeon (Children’s Champion) along with Little Big Star, where she would provide her little family with enough money to survive.

Charice’s story remains one of the most inspiring for me because it speaks of passion, love, power and how hard work with perseverance will pay off even when your country decides not to support you. While she is highly honored in the Philippines now that she is so successful, she only got noticed due to the success and fame of her founding in the United States. Her incredible voice is without a doubt captivating and one of the best you will ever hear. It’s good to know that she now earns millions of dollars every year from her albums and hit shows all over the world.

Although the accident history of the Convair 880 and 990 can be considered extensive, especially in relation to the number that entered service, several aspects must be considered. In the 15-year period between 1960, the model’s year of entry into service, and 1974, there were seven fatal mishaps. Four included the CV-990A, the total production of which was only a third of the entire program. But the first incident didn’t happen until the original CV-880 had doubled the skies, in divergent countries and weather conditions, for seven years.

Aircraft fatalities, from a minimum of one to a maximum of 155, must also be considered. Three accidents occurred during the takeoff phase and two during the cruise phase, but they were the result of intentionally placed explosive devices and not the airframe or engine. deficiency or design flaw. Many, due to fate alone, occurred in clusters, just days apart.

“The 880 achieved a great safety record in passenger service, but suffered numerous training mishaps and several accidents occurred after the aircraft were converted to cargo configurations,” according to Jon Proctor’s perspective on Convair 880 and 990 ( World Transport Press, 1996, p.82). “At least 15 hull losses were recorded, including several repairable, but canceled due to economic considerations.”

This chapter examines actual passenger transport accidents.

The first of these occurred on November 5, 1967 when aircraft VR-HFX, a CV-880M operated by Cathay Pacific, embarked on a multi-sector flight from Hong Kong’s Kai Tak International Airport to Calcutta with intermediate stops in Saigon and Bangkok. Piloted by Captain JRE Howell, an Australian, and manned by ten other crew members, the airliner, with 116 passengers on board, mimicked its take-off run in fair weather but aborted the attempt when it experienced a strong vibration and veered right at 122 knots. Despite footbrake and reverse thrust applications, there wasn’t enough distance left to stop.

Skidding off the runway and hurtling over a jetty, it sank in Hong Kong Harbour, losing its nose in the process. She finally stopped 100 yards from the end of the runway and in shallow water. No fire or explosion followed.

The captain entered the cabin to assist in the evacuation. Although he encountered confusion, there was little panic and the flight was ordered. Helicopters and boats converged on the submerged Convair.

Of the 127 souls on board, 20 required hospitalization, 13 suffered minor injuries and one, a South Vietnamese woman, died when she could not be removed from the cabin. The others, ironically, couldn’t even stand their feet wet.

The vibration and yaw to the right were traced to the detachment of the tire from the starboard front wheel, the culprit of the aborted takeoff.

Just 16 days after the Cathay Pacific incident, a much more fatal one occurred, this time during the landing phase.

On November 21, 1967, TWA Flight 128, a “Star Stream 880” registered as N821TW, departed from its Los Angeles origin two and a half hours late due to door seal problems on the plane originally planned which caused his replacement by one who came from Boston. With a destination, himself, to that same city, with intermediate stops in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh, he left Californian soil with seven crew members and 72 passengers.

The flight itself was routine. The landing did not go.

Thirty minutes before the 9:06 p.m. ETA, it began its descent toward Cincinnati, which, through the Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS), was reporting light snow, a 1,000-foot ceiling, and 1.5-mile visibility. .

The sleek, swept-winged airliner, its passenger windows providing the only light in the black soup through which it descended, approached the north-south runway of Greater Cincinnati Airport. But construction to lengthen it from 7,200 to 9,000 feet made its glideslope, approach lights, and center marker nonfunctional.

Approaching from the northwest, Flight 128 passed over the Ohio River, which was at a lower elevation than the airport itself because it had been built on a hill across the waterway. Lined up with the runway, the plane was scheduled to land in just a moment. But, 800 feet below its glide path, it would never reach the threshold.

Instead, it crashed into a Hebron, Kentucky apple orchard owned by BS Wagner, shearing trees with its wings until creeping impacts reduced its momentum and tore its fuel tanks. At 8:58 p.m., two miles from the runway, the red glow of the conflagration illuminated the swirling snow, marking the crash site.

Seventeen survivors were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, Kentucky, and three others were taken to Booth Hospital, all in serious condition. The subsequent deaths of some of them left only a dozen survivors among the 82 on board.

The accident, the first Convair 880 operated by a US airline, was the worst in the history of Greater Cincinnati Airport and the third in a series of similar mishaps. The first two approaches were made by a cargo plane on November 14, 1961 and an American Airlines Boeing 727-100 four years later on November 8.

Because everything had involved runway failures, an investigation was launched, but the FAA was unable to uncover any errors or deficiencies in the north-south runway approach procedure, stating that the airport “adequately meets our standards”.

The similarity, at least in the two incidents with commercial aircraft, was inadequate or completely non-existent in the instrument monitoring during the crucial phase of final approach. In the American case, it was the failure of the crew to monitor their altimeters during a visual approach, while in the TWA the co-pilot did not provide any altitude or airspeed advisory, which resulted in the aircraft’s inability to clear obstructions. of approach and its consequent impact on the ground two miles and 15 feet below the runway.

The third fatal accident, this time involving a CV-990A operated by Garuda Indonesia Airways, took place six months later, on May 28, 1968. Aircraft PK-GJA, which departed Jakarta the night before at 18:00, he linked the Far East with Amsterdam in Europe on his multi-sector flight that took him intermittently to Singapore, Bangkok, Bombay, Karachi, Cairo and Rome. But shortly after taking off from India, it hurtled to the ground in a vertical orientation, reaching its speed never surpassed during its fall toward earth, and impacted 20 miles away. All 29 on board and one on the ground perished. Although no definitive cause was found, sabotage was strongly suspected.

Visibility, or lack thereof, was the cause of another CV-990A accident two years later, on January 5, 1970. An engine failure caused the return of aircraft EC-BNM, operated by Spantax, shortly after. after his departure from Stockholm’s Arlanda International. Airport on your charter flight to Las Palmas. Although she departed again without passengers with the intention of flying to Zürich in three engines for repairs, heavy fog turned out to be the cause of her fall and impact with the surrounding forest, taking with her the lives of five of her ten crew.

As had happened with the Garuda CV-990A, the bomb blasts brought down two more aircraft.

In the first, on February 21, 1970, the aircraft HB-ICD operated by Swissair as Flight SR 330, departed from Zurich Kloten International Airport with nine crew members and 38 passengers, bound for Israel. But shortly after takeoff, an explosion ripped open the aft cargo hold.

As smoke billowed through the cabin, the captain made his distress call. Immediately cleared to return, the Convair 990A Coronado began to circle, forced to fly an ILS approach due to the low ceiling and limited visibility. However, the damage to the flight surfaces made control difficult, forcing the captain to use every method he could muster to keep the damaged craft airborne, all to no avail.

Lashing out in the village of Wuerenlingen in the Swiss canton of Aargau 25 miles from Zurich, it claimed all 47 lives.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, having planted a bomb in a checked bag, later claimed responsibility for the explosion, which was directed at an Israeli official on the flight.

The second consecutive blast defusal incident occurred two years later, on June 15, 1972. In this case, a Cathay Pacific CV-880M, registered VR-HFZ and operating as Flight 700Z, was flying between Bangkok and Hong Kong when a bomb , carried on board in a piece of carry-on luggage, exploded at flight level two-nine-zero, tearing the airframe into three sections and leaving them torpedoed on the ground, crashing 33 miles southeast of Pleiku, in the sparsely populated central highlands of South Vietnam. , 200 miles northeast of Saigon, at 2:00 p.m. local time.

So polarized was the remnant resulting from the built-up momentum and the annihilating impact with the ground that the fire didn’t even break out. US Army helicopters were the first to arrive at the crash site. All ten crew members and 71 passengers, needless to say, perished.

The motive for the sabotage was believed to be a long-standing one, namely the collection of insurance money. It was also believed that the device was supposed to have detonated at a time when the plane would have been over the South China Sea, leaving no trace of its cause.

The worst accident involving the Convair 880 and 990 occurred six months later, on December 3, 1972, when a 990A, registered EC-BZR and operated by Spantax, made its takeoff roll from Los Rodeos Airport in Santa Cruz de Tenerife on the Canary Islands, bound for Munich with seven crew members and 148 passengers.

The aircraft, under the command of Captain Daniel Núñez, spun around in blinding fog and climbed to 300 feet, at which point it experienced uncontrollable engine failure. Towards Earth, induced by gravity, it pierced the ground a thousand feet beyond the runway, taking all life with it.

Although the cause was cited as loss of control by the co-pilot, who was taking off, it was found that he had turned at a VR speed of 20 knots below that recommended for the aircraft’s gross weight, leaving it unable to generate enough lift. to set a positive climb rate.

The last accident in this 15-year period was the result of a runway incursion. While taxiing to the gate in Chicago at the end of its Tampa sector as Delta Flight 954, aircraft N8807E crossed the active runway and was intercepted by a North Central DC-9-30, which turned prematurely to attempt to climb it. While 15 injuries and a single fatality resulted from the DC-9’s plunge onto the runway, only one of the CV-880’s passengers was injured during the subsequent evacuation. However, after the top of its fuselage was severed and its tail severed, the Convair was damaged beyond repair.

Sometimes I hear from wives that they are considering confronting the other woman or lover or suspect that she will confront them. Sometimes the other woman has been calling or emailing and the wife is not sure how she should react if this woman knocks on her door. As much as many wives may long for or fantasize about this reunion, it almost never goes as planned and, in fact, looking directly into her face can sometimes leave you cold.

I heard from a wife who said, “The other day I was at our school football game buying my daughter a sandwich when I saw the woman my husband had an affair with. I found out recently when my husband came clean to me and she begged for my forgiveness. I know about this woman because our children go to the same school. I saw her at the concession stand and, having no idea how I should react, I pretended not to see her. But I know she saw me because after I left with my sandwiches. I looked over my shoulder and she was following me. I hurried over and sat down with my husband and then grabbed his arm. But I didn’t even tell him I saw her. Later, I wondered if I handled this wrong. Should I have confronted her? Should I have said something or yelled at her to stop following me? How are you supposed to act when you see the other woman or the lover? What is the best way to handle this?”

My opinion on how a wife should act when she sees the mistress or another woman: Before I get into this particular situation, I should clarify that the correspondence I receive about it often falls into two categories. Sometimes the husband still cheats and the wife sees the woman while the affair continues. Other times, the affair is over and the wife is trying to save her marriage.

I have to admit that it will probably be a lot harder to remain quiet and passive if the affair continues. I know it’s very tempting to tell her, in unkind terms, that you know exactly who she is and that your relationship with your husband must end immediately or else. I fully understand your need to do this. However, I warn you never to put yourself in a situation that could go wrong or get out of control. If you must say something, do it very quickly and then walk away from the situation. The last thing you want to do is engage in any sort of prolonged or emotional exchange, especially one where she lets you know that she is even more determined than ever to cling to her husband. If you must say something, quickly tell her that you know who she is and that the relationship needs to end. She keeps walking, don’t compromise. Be the greatest person. And never have any kind of exchange in front of your children.

Frankly, sometimes an icy head-high look followed by a smirk is far more effective than any words you can say because it will only make her wonder what you know that she doesn’t. And not losing control of her or being negatively affected by her will drive her crazy. But if you lose control and raise your voice and start getting teary-eyed, then she knows she’s won, or at least made you lose your cool.

Conversely, if the affair is over, you don’t want her to know that you’re still worried about her. Personally, I think the wife in the example above handled the situation appropriately. Walking away is, in my opinion, better than allowing her to annoy you, make a scene in front of your children, and engage in an exchange that is beneath you. The wife wondered what she should do when she saw the woman again, as she surely would at various school events. As I said, I find that a blank or cold stare followed by a knowing look or a smile is quite effective. If the wife felt that she absolutely had to talk to this woman, it should be a time when she is not in front of the children and in front of other families. And frankly, ignoring her is a better alternative (at least in my opinion and experience) than a nasty confrontation that doesn’t really solve anything.

So if I had to answer the question “how should you react when you see your husband’s mistress?” I would say that this would depend on whether or not the affair ended. That said, losing your tempter or allowing him to get under your skin gives him the upper hand. It makes him think you’re upset that he’s still a threat, and it can actually give him a lot of satisfaction sometimes, which is the last thing you want.

In fact, when you think about it, the most hurtful thing you could do is make her feel like you don’t care anymore. You want her to feel like the petty, fleeting problem that she will end up being. But if you get nervous, upset, or even angry, she probably knows better. Instead, if you can handle it, keep your head up, continue whatever it is you were doing, and if necessary, give her a powerful look to let her know her interaction was no accident. But don’t do something you regret or commit to when there really is no reason to do it. Healing after an adventure means moving on and the more you get involved or interact with it, the more your progress is delayed.

One of the most frequently asked questions flag football coaches ask is how to attack a zone defense. In fact, it was that very question that led me to start selling my Headache Offense and Unbeatable Defense online over a decade ago. I decided to come up with a set of plays just for this article to show how easy it really is to beat a zone defense.

Here is an example of how you can move the ball vs. a 2-3-2 zone in a 7-man blocking league. All three plays attack the “bubble” under Safety and between linebacker and cornerback. This is a very vulnerable part of zone defense.

play #1
[Link to play diagrams found at bottom of article]

LSE – Post-corner run with the initial break at a depth of about 7 meters. Make sure the pole portion of the route points to the opposite sideline at a depth of about 20-25 yards. This is important, as you will see in the next move.
CSR – Route of the pole with the break at a depth of 5-7 meters.
RWO – Square en route about 5 meters deep. The ball will be thrown into the “bubble” area.
Center – After an initial block, execute a hook route 5 yards above the LT.
Quarterback – The readings are simple.

1) Look at the “bubble” first and if it’s open, move to the RWO that meets it.
2) If the LB threatens the bubble, go to the center. If the Safety threatens the bubble, move to the RSE position in the shaded area of the diagram. Pass a bullet calmly.
3) If the FS moves to help cover the RSE, just drop to the back corner of the LSE.

Now, what happens if the strongside Corner follows the RWO, anticipating the route? That brings us to the next move.

play #2
[Link to play diagrams found at bottom of article]

LSE – Exactly like the post-corner of the previous play, but without the second serve. Continue posting through the field until you are out of bounds.
CSR – Run a post exactly as you did on the previous play, except about 12-15 yards away it breaks off the sideline at a point 2-3 yards below your break.
RWO – Run a square as before, but before reaching the center of the field, turn around and sit in the “bubble”.
Center – Same as the previous move.
Quarterback – Execute this play only when looking at the corner following the RWO in the inning box.

1) Read the RWO first and make sure the Corner follows it. If it doesn’t, go to the RWO in the “bubble”. If you do, read the SS.
2) If Safety is not in position to defend the RSE’s outside opening, pass him. Since the Corner vacated the outside area, it should be open.
3) If the Safety is in tight cover with the RSE on his break, pass the LSE downfield for a big win! Make sure you hit it slow.

If the LI is inside the “bubble”, move to Center. If the corner backs into his zone before going to the RSE, go to the RWO in the “bubble.”

play #3
[Link to play diagrams found at bottom of article]

Here’s another way to attack that same “bubble”.

LSE – Execute either a streak or a post similar to the previous play.
CSR – Execute a 5-7 yard hook.
RWO – Execute a 5-yard hook, bandage by squaring the shoulders and making eye contact with the QB. Then quickly break the field upstairs on a streak.
Center – Same as the previous move.
Quarterback
1) Start by reading the RWO and (assuming it’s not open) faking the hook.
2) Then read the SS. If you’re not in a position to plug the “bubble”, move on to the CSR. If the SS is in a position to cover it, read the scratched RWO. The safety read needs to be very quick as you don’t have much time to get to the hook and go.

Of course, if the LB is in the “bubble” it goes to the Center. And if both the RSE and RWO are covered, skip to the LSE downfield.

As with any game, you need to practice with every possible read the QB can do so the reads become second nature. That way you don’t have to “think”, you just have to “react”. If you just put a QB under center with no detailed reads, you’re bound to miss. You can’t expect a quarterback to be able to look at 4 or 5 different receivers and find the open guy (unless, of course, he has a Joe Montana on his team). It’s like telling a checkers player to “get the king” in a game of chess!

But, if you teach your quarterback exactly what to read and how to react, then you don’t have to have a brilliant caller, you just need to have one who is willing to practice. Of course, that means you can’t have too many moves or you won’t be able to execute them properly. That’s why you should pick the most powerful plays that can be effective when played over and over again vs. the same team

Beating a zone defense is about strategy, not athletics. It’s about thinking better than your opponent. Start drawing zone defenses on sheets of paper and try to find the weaknesses in them and brainstorm how to exploit them. If you start using your brain, you can easily dismantle any defense zone you face!
