Half the pleasure of traveling is in the anticipation. There is magic in waiting for the day to come, the expectation of being somewhere new, somewhere exotic, inhaling strangely fragrant air and feeling foreign breezes caressing your skin. To get the most out of your pre-trip daydream, I always think it’s worth learning a bit about where you’re going before you set foot in the door.

There are cities that can enchant you, where the flagstones of the squares and plazas can capture your imagination, basilicas and palaces where you can succumb to reflect on the generations of feet that stepped on the same place where you are now. But only if you have some idea of its history.

Spain is one of those evocative destinations…a vast backdrop for some of the most intriguing, grandiose and turbulent stories ever written. In case you find yourself bound for Spain this year or next, here’s a random handful of geographical, historical, and other facts to jump-start your daydreams while you pack.

Occupying eighty-five percent of the Iberian Peninsula at the southwestern tip of Europe, Spain is the third largest country on the continent. Its outlying territories include the Balearic Islands (Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza) and the Canary Islands more than six hundred miles to the south, off the coast of North Africa.

Today’s Spain is an exuberant mix of surprising contrasts, a place where the traditional and the ultra-modern coexist. Spanish identity has been shaped by a long and checkered history and by the great footprints left by those who first invaded and colonized the land.

The ancient Greeks and Phoenicians swept across the peninsula ahead of the Romans who arrived in 300 BC. The imperial conquerors brought their highly developed language and architecture, their agricultural techniques, and unusual new crops such as wine grapes and wheat. Evidence of renowned Roman engineering, such as the amphitheater in Mérida and the great aqueduct in Segovia, remains in many parts of Spain today.

After the Romans came the Visigoths, one of the many Germanic tribes that had converted to Christianity. They ruled Iberia from their court in Barcelona for three hundred years. Next to take center stage in Spain’s drama were the North African Moors who occupied Iberia for seven centuries, imprinting what would become the Spanish language, Spanish architecture, and Spanish cuisine with their own unique oriental characteristics. His influence and legacy are particularly visible in the south, in places like Granada, where the great Muslim fortress, the Alhambra, still stands.

Until the Moors were expelled from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492, Spain remained a disconnected group of separate kingdoms. Andalusia, Galicia, Leon, Castile, Aragon, and Catalonia were autonomous and independent until Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand began the process of uniting them into a single nation, Spain.

The turn of the century that followed ushered in Spain’s Golden Age. Intrepid explorers such as Columbus, Pizarro, and Cortés sailed around the world, and for the next two hundred years Spain achieved naval and economic supremacy, making it one of the leading colonial powers of the time.

Predominantly Catholic today, the Spain of earlier times was traditionally a cosmopolitan mixed society with a reputation for humanistic tolerance. Medieval Moorish culture from 750 to 1050 was highly cultured, particularly advanced in mathematics and medicine. For centuries, a sizeable Jewish population that valued learning and philosophy endowed Spain with its wisdom and business acumen. Spanish Jews, Moors and Christians lived together in what we would now consider a very progressive liberal society. Salamanca’s great university was founded in the early 13th century and became Europe’s brightest academic beacon, second only to the famous bastions of education founded in the previous century in Paris, Bologna and Oxford. for several hundred
years the Bachelor of Science in Salamanca was the most coveted credential to which a scholar could aspire.

Over the centuries many empires scaled Iberia’s mountain ranges, inhabited its shores and marched across its arid plains. In the end they all succumbed to the siren song of Spain and were assimilated into their culture, impacting and changing it, as much as they were impacted and changed by it.

Today’s Spain is a parliamentary monarchy made up of autonomous communities. Each has a distinctive landscape, its own unique cultural history and traditions, a regional cuisine, and sometimes a different language that distinguishes its natives. The heady energy of Spain can seduce, mystify and hypnotize. Few visitors escape the lure of its charms. You can ski to the peaks and snow caps of the Pyrenees, sunbathe on endless white sand beaches, rub elbows with Marbella’s jet set, or take a dusty road to the white villages and find your soul in the raw emotion of Andalusian gypsy flamenco. . . Just bring an open heart… you won’t find a warmer welcome anywhere on the continent.

In part 2 of our Bible prophecy series, we will look at earthquakes, war and their effect, not only on humanity, but also how they are affecting prophecy. Earthquakes have always occurred since the foundation of the earth. Why are earthquakes so important now? Number and locations are the dividing factor between the earthquakes of the past and the ones we are experiencing today.

What is a seismic movement, shaking or shaking of the earth’s surface. Most earthquakes are minor tremors. Larger earthquakes usually start with mild tremors, but quickly take the form of one or more violent shocks and end in vibrations of gradually decreasing strength called aftershocks. On average, about 1,000 earthquakes with intensities of 5.0 or more are recorded each year. Large earthquakes (intensity 8.0 or higher) occur once a year, large earthquakes (intensity 7.0-7.9) occur 18 times a year, strong earthquakes (intensity 6.0-6.9) 10 times a month, and moderate earthquakes (intensity 5.0-5.9) more twice a day.

God has built a natural safety valve in the earth for expansion and contraction. This safety valve is called an earthquake. The number, magnitude, and location are important in understanding the Scriptures dealing with the last days. The first scripture we will deal with is Matthew 24:7.

1.Because nation will rise against nation, (The number of wars continues to grow each year.

In my life alone, I have seen wars in Vietnam, Grenada, the cold war with the Soviet Union, Iraq 1, Iraq 2, Afghanistan, Israel and all their wars with Egypt, Iran, Syria, the East Bank and the Gaza Strip, etc. . and The Invisible War with the Extreme Elements of Alqaeda and The Nation of Muslim Fanatics The Soviet Union and Afghanistan) and

2. kingdom against kingdom: The Muslim Nation is divided on Jehad and the way to convert all men to Mohmmad-ism. The United Nations is divided into pieces that are barely standing, due to the division between all nations.) and

3. There will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places. (This section is easy to understand and relate to India, Pakistan, Africa, bird flu, etc. Fear of another pandemic is growing not only among the people of earth but also in the medical community.) (In recent years, and especially in 2005, we have seen earthquakes in China, Pakistan, the United States, South America, Japan, China, Philippens, the Soviet Union, etc.)

Mark 13:8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and riots; these are beginnings of sorrows. (“These are the beginning of sorrows.”) The Bible tells us that in the last days there will be a significant change in the nature of the earth and the attitude of man. Why is all this happening?

Man’s will, his pride, arrogance, greed for power, possessions and fame, have overtaken God’s will and man’s love for each other. Hatred, mistrust, fear, suspicion, prejudice, have become the catalyst for many disasters in the world and will be the undoing of man. To prove what I have already said, let’s look at two sections of Scripture from the Book of Revelations.

1.Revelation 14:8 And another angel followed him, saying: Babylon has fallen, has fallen (This is a past fact and a future prophecy), the great city (The habitation of the Babylonian people and the Spirit of Babylon that has changed to the man -good attitude.), because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

(“Fornication”. Extramarital sex) (Sex here means a deviation from the Truth of the Bible to join a false doctrine and a criminal conversion of the Truth of the Scriptures to follow after all kinds of cult activities.) (which deliberately and maliciously inter-fears with marital relationships Criminal conversion (People who try to worship God on the one hand and embrace false doctrine on the other.)

2. Revelation 18:2 And he cried out with a loud voice, saying: Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become the habitation of demons (Demons in this case means, People of hatred, confusion, People cruel and inhuman, haters of God and haters of man, demon-possessed), and den of every unclean spirit, and shelter of every unclean and hateful bird.

(The word “bird” in Revelation 18:2 means, A cry or noise to show contempt or displeasure, a cry of hatred and prejudice.) If you have noticed in Revelation 14:8 and 18:2, the phrase is repeated ” has fallen, has fallen.” Why? In Hebrew, when a subject or word is mentioned twice, it means that the event mentioned will occur twice. Babylon the City was destroyed, The spirit of Babylon will also be destroyed.

This is what is starting to happen today. The Nations of the world have become what God already destroyed once, Babylon. Luke 21:11 And there will be great earthquakes in divers (Many) places, and famines and pestilences; and terrible spectacles (tsunamis) and great signs will be from heaven. (Meteorites, Meteorites, Comets.)

Revelation 11:13. And in the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city (Jerusalem) fell, and seven thousand men died in the earthquake: (a tenth of the population of the city) (This means a population at that time of this earthquake to 700,000 people)

(The population of Jerusalem, according to the censorship at the end of 2003, was 693,200 people.) and the remnant got scared and gave glory to the God of heaven. (References; Isa 22:5 For it is a day of trouble, and of trampling underfoot, and of perplexity for the LORD God of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying out to the mountains.

Zechariah 14:3-7; Then the Lord will go out, and he will fight against those nations, as he fought in the day of battle. And his feet will stand in that day on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives will split in the middle of it to the east and to the west, and there will be a valley very big; and half of the mountain will move to the north, and the other half to the south.

And you will flee to the valley of the mountains; because the valley of the mountains will reach Azal; Yea, ye shall flee, as ye fled before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with you. And it will come to pass on that day, that the light will be neither clear nor dark; but it will be a day that will be known by the Lord, not the day nor the night; but it will come to pass that at evening time there will be light.)

Revelation 16:18-19 And there were voices, thunder and lightning; and there was a great earthquake, such as there was not since there were men on the earth, such a strong earthquake, and so great. And the great city (Jerusalem) was divided into three parts, (EU wants Israel to divide Jerusalem. 15:51 Nov 27, ’05/25 Cheshvan 5766 By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu)

(For the past three years, we have been reporting that the time is coming when the world will force Israel to partition Jerusalem with the Palestinian Authority. Well, that time is here. Keep an eye on the next few years for a “political move” to use the estab- construction of the next Jewish temple as a bargaining chip for Israel to divide its capital.

The division of Jerusalem would fit Bible prophecy. We must keep in mind that the Lord declared that once the Jews took possession of Israel again (1947) it would never again return to the Gentiles. Therefore, half of Jerusalem does not constitute a total surrender of her. I think this topic could be the springboard that Satan will use to bring in his false Messiah, the Antichrist.

God’s plan for the end of the ages and the beginning of the Messiah’s reign is advancing with pinpoint precision!) and the cities of the nations fell: and the great Babylon came to remembrance before God, to give her the cup of wine from the pride of his anger. ars. endpoint 2.

As a songwriter, I’ve written a lot of rockabilly songs. Some of them have been pretty good (in my opinion!), some certainly not so good. Many of my songs have been played at live shows and some have been well received by the audience while others have flopped a bit. So I have often contemplated the question, “What makes a great rockabilly song?” In trying to find the answer to that question, I have searched through the great rockabilly songs of history. In this article, I’ll talk about some of the answers I’ve found. Of course, this is all my opinion and you may have different ideas about what makes a great rockabilly song, but it should be fun to explore together.

One of the obvious aspects of rockabilly that made the music so exciting in those early days was that it was fresh, new, and different. For us modern rockabilly songwriters we no longer have that element of surprise working for us and that can seem like it makes the job harder. But really, it wasn’t just the freshness that made those songs great. In fact, truly great songs still sound great even though we’ve been listening to them for 60 years. They still sound fresh and exciting, so there must be something to them beyond just the novelty of a new art form. If our modern rockabilly songs aren’t up to the task, we can’t hide behind the excuse that the genre isn’t new!

If I had to choose one word to describe this music, it would be Energy. Great rockabilly music has a different kind of energy. Even the slowest numbers keep you energized, like you never know if the song will stay slow or suddenly explode into rockabilly madness. And it doesn’t seem to matter how many times you’ve heard a song; you still anticipate the explosion. For me, no other music has the same energy as rockabilly. It is a positive and happy energy that makes me smile every time I experience it!

Another important aspect of rockabilly is what I call “sleeping simplicity.” Or maybe you could call it “sleeping complexity”. Rockabilly songs are generally constructed quite simply. The chord progressions are pretty predictable. The structure of the song section is usually a simple alternation between verse and chorus with a musical break or two. Bridge sections are rare. There are not many surprises there. But this structural simplicity hides the complexity of the musical talent behind it. Guitar work is often far from simple. Complex chord-based solos intertwine with single-note solos that can jump back and forth between minor and major musical scales at any time, not just within the same solo, but even within the same section of the solo! only! Carl Perkins was a master at this type of soloing. And it’s not just that the guitar breaks. Hear how the lead guitar often weaves and intertwines with the vocals. It’s not just a selector firing off random riffs. The musician seems to be almost able to make the guitar part of the voice and is a complex talent.

The bass also adds its own unexpected complexity, especially on recordings or live performances that don’t use drums. The slap-bass style of many rockabilly bassists turns the bass into a dual-duty instrument. Bass notes sustain the bottom end, while slapping rhythms can get quite complex. But in a way, things get more complex with the bass when there’s a drummer because now the drums and the bass have to work together so they don’t compete in setting the beat. While this is true with the interplay between bass and drums in any type of music, the rockabilly slap-bass player has to consider that additional aspect of the percussive rhythm. The bass player needs to make sure that those claps integrate seamlessly with the drummer’s rhythms. If they don’t, things get really sloppy really fast!

OKAY; those are just a few of my thoughts on what makes a great rockabilly song. I certainly don’t have it fully figured out yet and will continue to study it in my quest to get to the root of the answer. If you’re like me, you’ll find that analyzing music in this way adds to the joy of rockabilly music.

On February 23, a film by Joel Schumacher, starring Jim Carrey, entitled ‘The number 23’ will be released. The story centers on a book given to the main character (Carrey) that seems to echo the events of his life and prominently features the phenomena known as “The 23 Enigma”. The 23 conundrum is the belief that every event is somehow related to the number 23. This is sometimes mistakenly attributed to the science of numerology, although that is incorrect. Like the ‘9-11’ phenomenon in which 911 matches are recorded and listed, the 23 riddle may be no more than a particular example of the confirmation bias In cognitive theory known as apophenia – the experience of finding connections or patterns in random and meaningless data. Supporters of the 911 phenomenon find a good portion of these matches by manipulating numbers to arrive at the desired result (negating the possibility of a true match), and many of the examples given in the numerous 23 enigma lists share this trait. Robert Anton Wilson himself, whose work explores some of these interesting coincidences regarding the number 23, comments that the phenomenon simply shows how the mind can find the ‘truth’ in anything if it wishes to see it.

However, there are some genuine coincidences (or synchronicities) that feature the number 23 and are often interesting to consider as harmless diversions, some of which we will list here. Due to popular culture, there are also many instances where the enigma is intentionally evoked in works of art that feature some reference to 23. If you decide to tentatively accept the phenomenon as a true example of synchronicity in action, don’t be surprised if you start to see the number 23 everywhere as it becomes what is known in psychology as a self-fulfilling prophecy. Whether you see it or not, have fun. 23 times!

Curiosities of the number 23

The physical biorhythm cycle is said to be 23 days. It takes 23 seconds for blood to circulate through the human body. The male and female each contribute 23 chromosomes during conception. Every 23 angstroms, one complete turn of the DNA helix occurs. The number of joints in the human arm is 23. There are 23 vertebrae in the human body. Tantrists believe that the male sexual cycle is 23 days.

Shakespeare was born on April 23. Shakespeare died on April 23. Two 23’s equals 46 and that was how old Shakespeare was when the KJV was published. Take a King James version of the Bible and go to Psalm 46. Count 46 words and you will come to the word ‘shake’. Go to the end of the chapter and count back 46 words and the ending word is ‘spear’.

Many men still associate their virility with the size of their penis. No matter how proficient they are at making love, they still feel insecure because they’re not hung like a porn star. Therefore, they end up looking for penis enlargement devices online. However, these devices cost hundreds of dollars, putting them out of reach for most men; Fortunately, you can easily make your own homemade penis enlargement devices at minimal cost.

Hanging weights from the penis is one of the oldest known techniques for penis enlargement; in fact, it may even have been practiced by the pharaohs of Egypt. The basic principle behind this is that by hanging weights from your penis, the tissues will expand and give the impression that your organ is longer. As the tissues loosen, more blood will be able to enter your penis when you are aroused, creating longer erections.

To make your own penis weight hanger, you will need two pieces of stiff material. Drill holes on either side of them so you can attach loops of string, from which you’ll hang the weights, and add a device to fasten them, either beads or a bolt and wing nut assembly.

To use the weight hanger, first wrap a piece of cloth around your penis for comfort and to protect it from chafing. Then connect the device to the shaft just below the head; test the fit first to see if it’s comfortable. Stop using the device if you feel any pain or numbness and never use it when the penis is erect or semi-erect; your penis must be completely flaccid. Once the weight hanger is on, you can start hanging weights from the loops; start with a weight of 2 to 2.5 pounds and then gradually increase by adding another half pound every ten days until you reach a comfortable maximum. The ideal routine would be to use the device for ten minutes on and ten minutes off for two hours in the morning and at night.

Jelqing is another popular technique to enlarge your penis, but you may achieve better results if you use Jelqing sticks. To do this, all you need is two PVC pipes about ten inches long and a half inch wide. To use, place the Jelqing sticks in the middle of the shaft when your penis is flaccid, then gently pull them down and out towards the head. Repeat for about fifteen minutes per session one or two sessions a day. If you do Jelqing exercises you should be aware of any discomfort or bruising. Although a little soreness at first is natural, persistent soreness means you’re overdoing it.

How Much Improvement Can You Expect From Using These Homemade Penis Enlargement Devices? One study showed that hanging weights resulted in a gain of 1.25 inches over a four-month period, but this was when the exercise was done for 12 hours a day, seven days a week. You should see a similar level of improvement but over a longer period of time; do not try the routine described above. Jelqing should produce similar results. Remember to measure your erect penis before and after using the devices to measure your progress.

Introduction

What makes poetry-poetry?

I find-in-my-mind-eyes, what can make splendid poetry is: irony, symbolism, resemblance, metaphor, metric arrangement, expression, confession, spontaneity, but at the end of the poem – as at the end of a day – when the reader looks back and all is said and done, they need to ask themselves, “Has it affected me?” but because? A poem must bring some kind of chill, if not, some kind of voice to the reader. Again I say, if not, go on to the next poem or page in the book, every poem may not be right for you, as every song a singer sings is not necessarily the song that influences you.

Poetry in its crudest and rarest form, and its most perverse, arises from spontaneity.

maybe my style

A comment on poetry

I prefer to join the ranks of naturalness, spontaneity, free of rhymed couplets, romanticism and passion, I leave the Elizabethans, to them. I prefer to shift a bit to the 11th century, or just before that era, when rhyme was being modernized, but not quite in place. Right there, there was a world of nature and mysteries and emotions to be written, told and stories to be transmitted and memorized: addressing the times, their cultures and heroes; and so I must take that period, with my era, and mix it with fragments and dreams, and all that stuff, and let the dead bury the dead. Let the artificial ones reproduce half the literature (they will anyway) and mine the other half. It can be hard to live in a world where critics who write mostly criticism dismiss themes, dignity, manners, this is perhaps a strong protest against all that, but poets must assert their right to represent the world, in a clear and genuine. tone, it is our duty. We are passing through, we leave what we write (infect minds, or produce health), angry citizens will always get fed up with anything, but those who do not want their pockets to be robbed, wait for us to circulate literature. which is full of floating thoughts of those things that I have already mentioned. And to these readers, and to generations to come, I write.

Free Verse: Today’s poetry often has no recognizable voice, theme, or even form. We call this Free Verse, which is the dominant form of Postmodernism; Before this, we had what was called Modernism, where we re-examined what poetry is.

Definition of Poetry I: Each poem is a story, a short story, involving density of language and intensity of imagery, or imagery (mental images); and descriptiveness, metaphors, similes (comparisons).
Effect (Poetry II definition) As a poet, you must ask yourself ‘Did I get the effect I wanted from my poetry?’ maybe you did, and if so, you’re on the right track. I mean I never ask a person this, I prefer to hear what they say about my poetry, and then I can answer the question myself.

substance of the poem

A poem has to have substance to survive…! Some of this substance is in the theme and intuition of the poem.

-When writing a poem, like everything in life, one must have a plan, a destination (where do you want to take your reader?), Again, this is part of the substance, that will come out later.

-A poem is perhaps the secret life of the poet; it may be his black twin, his self detached from him; this is usually the case. Thus, the poet and the poem become more a riddle of despair than a work of art.

The world of art in words

The world of Art, in words, has a definite meaning for me; it is a romance, produced during its stages of creation. like a book As I write it, refine it, test it, and finally victory comes: an initial and final romance has taken place. Idleness is never involved, it is a horrible sin, an enemy of the soul. Man should not be idle, if so, the ghost comes out of him, not the art.

The world of art in words

The artist appeared on earth.

from behind the sea

the sun passed over him,

separate emotion

If you look for the poet within the poem, look for the background he has left behind, the continuous hint of feeling, it should be everywhere, but rarely does anyone look for it, it is called separate excitement; or poetic art. Yeats uses it. If you missed the source and the beauty, and the exact edge of the poem, which is sometimes called ‘must’, go back and look it up, if you have to. I don’t use as often as I used to, and for various reasons I don’t enjoy the ordinary.

On the form of poetry

People obsess over structure, trying to pick the right form they want to use in poetry (perhaps trying to learn their style or approach in the process). I’d rather let it go and mix one idea or event with the next, lest I lose my soul trying to fit it into something it never should have been.

I try to listen to my voice, the one that speaks inside me, if I can find the silence, I will find the unassuming voice, and within that voice are the syllables, the letters, the words, the rhyme and other elements of poetry that you can want to use.

figurative language
(An example): Figurative language, meaning words used to refer to something you don’t really mean, is used here to make noise, as metaphors sometimes are.

derived echoes

I’d show you love in a handful of clouds-

Could I find the clouds and find love?

And is love what one really seeks?

What is confessional poetry?

((And why did we write it?)(3-1-2007))

What is confessional poetry? It is when you prepare for the big fall, when you dare to tell everything. Sylvia Plath, Anne Saxton, the perverted Allen Ginsberg; Robert Lowell, of whom I have several books, was a little quieter in his verse than the poets I have just mentioned. “I” or “you” is often used in confessional poetry. I find most of this poetry unflattering, and that’s why I don’t do much of it; it wasn’t meant to be. It is usually personal and autobiographical. The poet usually speaks directly to you, the reader.

When I read Plath, her confessional style seems more fantasy than fiction, but either way, it’s her soul speaking; one must forget the themes and the theme in confessional poetry, it explores certain details, processes past emotions, events, the author is actually exploring and processing the life of him in front of you.

The question has arisen: “Why write it?” and a fair question that should be answered perhaps more by a psychologist than by a poet, because sometimes one needs to be brutally honest. It seems to me that it would clear the brain and lessen the guilt. Many times, the more you write something, the less powerful it remains. A way to process your bread.

poetry reading

When reading poetry, first read it slowly, paying attention to it, as you do at dinner, then read it slowly a second time, with an open mind, third, read it again, this time, as if you were reading prose. , will now jump towards you.

Many poems are complex, and perhaps ambiguous, if they are too much for you, throw them away (unless you want to suffer for them, then you are asking for pain and you can receive it).

Get to know the poet you are reading, his story will help you understand why he writes the way he does, perhaps his mind will come clearer to yours.

Get rid of your preconceived ideas (prejudices, etc.) while you read and enjoy the experience. If you like poetry and not the poet, because of your prejudices, you have a problem.

Understanding the poets

-To understand some poetry, or poets, one must have experienced what the poet has -identical experiences-; or it must be in the form of the poet, the exceptions are from the old school of poetry: one shoe fits all (thus grasping the theme, plot, and understanding of poetry becomes much easier); of the contemporary scene, you must have the same shoe size as the poet to understand where the poet is taking you, and in poetry the poet must have a destination for the reader, lest he care (and he should).

-The poet survives perhaps because he is oblivious (or not so connected) with the world and all its compulsions (suicide is usually on the other side of this coin, if not drugs and alcohol).

-Poetry has achieved something if it makes you reflect on it…; extending this a bit further, (it seems) there will come a day (not so far in the future), when poets won’t even need to know anything about literature (most don’t today); however, poetry is (or should be) considered the highest form of literature.

-Most poets write about love and death, which are perhaps the two main ingredients (or themes) of poetry; some write about social issues, which makes bad poetry; but it is the “Beauty” that shines above all, and is often, too often, overlooked in place of self-interest, or a combination of negative, delusional, and confused thoughts, put into writing by a poet under the influence of some kind of chemical. One can enjoy the beauty that surrounds them.

Final words: We as poets must not forget, we influence people, young people in particular, and we have an obligation (if not a duty) to set a good example with the way we live and write.

The All-Star break has always been considered the midpoint of the baseball season, but the fact is that every team has played more than half of its games a week earlier. A more accurate marker of the midpoint of the Major League Baseball season would be July 4.

Here alone in 2016, every team has played at least 83 games, with most hitting 90 before the All-Star break. Two clubs, the Toronto Blue Jays and the San Francisco Giants, have already played 85 games. By next Tuesday’s Midsummer Classic at San Diego’s Petco Park, both teams will have completed nearly 60 percent of their seasons.

The Fourth might be a better indication of the midway point of the season, but it provides a very inaccurate picture of which teams will be champions of their divisions. Rarely do teams in first place on Independence Day end up there at the end of the season.

In the past five seasons, only nine division champions have held the top spot on July 4. The other twenty-one division champions were looking at at least one other team at the midway point, and some were even as low as fourth place.

In 2012, none of the teams in first place in the Fourth managed to win their division. Even more incredible, four of the eventual division champions (Detroit, Atlanta, Oakland and Baltimore) were in third place at the halfway point of that season.

The change at the bottom happens less often, but still more than half of the teams in last place on July 4th end up in the basement at the end of the season. Of the thirty clubs that placed last on the Fourth of July over the past five seasons, seventeen have ended up moving up at least one rung in their divisions.

For three of those seasons, exactly half couldn’t get out of the basement. But just two seasons ago, the bottom six at the midpoint finished ahead of at least one club in their divisions.

Chances are, the clubs that are at the top on July 4 are likely to be replaced at the end of the season. That fact should change the way clubs have traditionally viewed the baseball schedule.

Instead of waiting until the All-Star break in mid-July, teams’ front offices should start preparing for the second half at least a week in advance. The teams in first place right now have less of a chance of finishing on top than one of the teams currently chasing them, a scary thought for GMs who have so far considered 2016 a successful season.

Sometimes I hear from women who are engaged and have discovered that their fiancé has cheated on them. Sometimes this happens at the bachelor party and other times, it happens randomly, but while the engagement is active.

Understandably, many of these women consider breaking off the engagement and not continuing with the marriage. After all, if he cheats on you while you’re engaged, won’t he cheat on you once you’re married? Isn’t “once a cheat always a cheat” almost always true? Shouldn’t you go out while the get is good? Why would you go through with a marriage with a man who is cheating on you before there is actually some stress factor in the marriage?

Someone might say, “I was ready to get married and then I got an instant message on Facebook from my fiancé’s ex-girlfriend saying that her conscience was telling her to admit that my husband-to-be has been coming over to her house and sleeping with her for the last two years.” months. She said it started when he basically contacted her to tell her he was engaged and, in a sense, close and say goodbye. They met for dinner and one thing led to another. She admits that he broke up a few weeks ago. She admits that he told her that he was very guilty for what they had done and that he was committed to me and that he would never be able to see her again. So I’m not sure what his motivation was in coming forward now. But I’m kind of glad he did done because that’s something I needed to know. Of course, I confronted my fiancé about this. And he admitted it, but he’s been following me around crying about how he can’t lose me. Before he called his ex. My pr Her only inclination was to end the engagement and never see him again. And this is what I told him I was going to do. I wasn’t trying to scare him. He was being totally sincere. That was my plan. But then I went a few weeks without him and he called me and recruited all our mutual friends to help him. That’s when I started to change my mind ever so slightly and opened my mind to the idea of just postponing the engagement. But many of my friends tell me that I am crazy. They say that if a man cheats on you during your engagement, he will definitely cheat on you during your marriage. They are right?”

I don’t know anyone who can successfully predict the future. However, infidelity before marriage is not the best sign. That said, I suspect that healing from this infidelity is going to be the same as if you were actually married. After all, when you’re committed, the commitment is still there. Sure, it’s not as big of a commitment as being married, but it’s very serious.

To have confidence that this will not happen again, you will have to work hard to find out why it happened, find a way to prevent it from happening again, and restore trust and goodwill. Your fiancé needs to be willing to take an honest look at his motivations and behaviors. What made him approach the other woman in the first place? Once they crossed the line once, why did she come back again? Was she going to confess or would you never have found out if the other woman hadn’t told you?

All of these questions need to be answered and then the work really begins. I highly recommend getting advice. That may seem overwhelming or not very fun. But it’s much better to go ahead and do it than to live with a troubled marriage. At a minimum, good self-help is needed. Very few people have the skills to see the issues necessary to heal the relationship on their own. Most people just can’t be objective enough or see their relationship the way it should be seen.

But to answer the original question. Cheating once doesn’t always mean cheating again. However, it is a warning sign. And you have enough knowledge of this warning sign that it may be wise to make sure you do all the necessary work until you feel completely comfortable going ahead with the wedding. There’s no point getting into something you know could be a problem in the future when you have the time and foresight to avoid it, and work until you feel completely comfortable going forward with the wedding.

You remember “The Witch Doctor”, of course… who doesn’t? You probably learned it at summer camp.

But did you know that it’s not just a silly children’s song and that it topped the charts in 1958? Did you know that the high pitched voice of the witch doctor in the song is actually the same voice as the world famous Alvin and the Chipmunks?

The artist who had a #one hit in 1958 with “The Witch Doctor” was David Sevilla; the same David Sevilla who about a year later was all over the airwaves (and soon on TV too) yelling “ALVIN!” (and won a Grammy in 1959).

David Seville was the stage name of Ross Bagdasarian Sr., born in Fresno, CA in 1919 (and died in 1972).

“The Witch Doctor” was not Seville’s first #1, although it was the song that propelled his career to international fame and fortune. In 1951, a song she co-wrote with her cousin and successful playwright William Saroyan, “Come On-A My House,” was a No. 1 hit for singer Rosemary Clooney (aunt of famous actor George Clooney).

“In 1958, my family had kept the last $200. Being a gamer at heart, my father did what any other prudent person would do. He took $190 and bought the latest state-of-the-art tape recorder, one that allowed him to change the speed As he was trying to decide what to write about, he saw a book on his desk, Duel with the witch doctor. In a burst of creative energy, fueled mostly by sheer panic, he wrote ‘Witch Doctor,’ a song about a boy who is hopelessly in love and goes to a witch doctor for advice…” –Ross Bagdasarian, Jr .

But how were the voice of the witch doctor and the voices of the squirrels actually created?

Since if you increase the speed of the tape, the TEMPO of the performance also speeds up, to get the desired result of correct tempo combined with the high voice, Sevilla had to record the songs singing them at approximately half speed. – a laborious task especially for Chimpmunks records that had multiple characters and harmony parts.

“Bagdasarian did all the vocals himself, a tedious process that took three days and nine tracks of tape in a recording studio. He named the Chipmunks after Al Bennett and Si Warnoker, the heads of his record company, Liberty, and Ted Keep, the recording director engineer for the session.” –StraightDope.com

As for “The Witch Doctor,” upon its release by the financially strapped Liberty Records, it reached No. 1 and sold over a million copies. Alvin and the Chipmunks’ “The Chipmunk Song,” which premiered in November 1958, did even better.

“When the dust settled in mid-January 1959, “The Chipmunk Song” had sold four and a half million records in seven weeks. An all-time record in the music business…In 1964, the Beatles [“I Want to Hold Your Hand”] it eclipsed “The Chipmunk Song” as the best-selling song of all time. Thinking if you can’t beat them, join them, Pop visited the Beatles in London. And, with his blessing, he released The Chipmunks Sing The Beatles.” –Ross Bagdasarian, Jr.

the witch doctor lyrics

(Words and Music by David Sevilla)

I told the sorcerer that I was in love with you

I told the witch doctor you didn’t love me either

And then the witch doctor told me what to do

Said…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

I told the wizard that you didn’t really love me

I told the wizard you didn’t love me right

And then the witch doctor gives me this advice

told…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Now you’ve been hiding love from me

As if you were a miser

And I’ll admit I wasn’t very smart

So I went out and found myself

A guy who is so wise

And taught me the way to win your heart

My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to say

My friend the witch doctor, he taught me what to do

I know you’ll be mine when I tell you this

Oh baby…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang…

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

Ooo eee, ooo ah ah ting tang

Walla walla, bang bang

We have all heard it. We have all been amazed. We’ve all shaken our heads asking “what the hell is that?”. I’m talking about that big “Head On” commercial that’s currently flooding cable TV. Well, if you’re curious, look no further. You’ve come to the right place for an answer.

As part of my community service sentence for pleading “no answer” to a fire truck follow-up incident, I admit I have a thing for fires, but for crying out loud, I was only in a Segue at the time, I have write an important article that enlightens the public about a pressing social problem. Therefore, I have chosen to inform the public about the proper use of “Head On”. Can there be a more burning question? I do not think.

To get to the bottom of this, I thought I’d go to our favorite celebrities first. They know everything, so it only follows that I should ask them first. Well, let me tell you, what I discovered is not only shocking, but downright explosive.

Stars don’t know shit! How about those apples? You won’t read that in People magazine. Yes, they are dumber than a boob in your hair, with one exception. More on that later.

I simply asked each of them, “What do you use ‘Head On’ for?” Here are their revealing responses. You be the judge.

Billy Joel (via his rather testy publicist): “Mr. Joel used it to protect against bodily injury resulting from head-on car accidents. I was under the impression that it made seat belts and air bags obsolete. Unfortunately, it didn’t.” I can offer more than that right now, Mr. Joel is involved in a nasty personal injury lawsuit against the manufacturer. Suffice it to say, Mr. Joel no longer uses ‘Head On.'”

Don Imus – “Um…Diedre…(inaudible)…Imus Ranch…eyebrows growing…Wyatt…(cough, wheeze)…forehead hair removal…(noise of oxygen tank)…greening and cleaning…(flat line sound)…(electric shock paddles)…click”

Mel Gibson: “It does get rid of hangovers, but unfortunately it has some pretty worrying side effects that I’m very susceptible to. In some people, it releases anti-Semitic and Jew-hating thoughts into the conscious lobe of the brain; therefore, my untimely, “Little indiscretion. If I wear it again, it’ll only be at Aryan Brotherhood sleepovers, barbecues.”

Tom Cruise: “Actually, it’s a very important part of the Scientology ritual known as the ‘Hubbard Head Meld.’ Katie puts some ‘Head On’ on my forehead. I put some on Katie’s. We close our eyes and touch. It creates an opening through which our spirits mingle in the joy and euphoria of jumping off the couch. I know. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? Look, think of it as a Vulcan mind meld, but really “.

Paris Hilton – “It’s the best for…can I say like ‘oral sex’? She puts it like on my forehead, and I’m sure I put it on her–” (I like hanging on her. )

Donald Trump – “Well, it’s actually quite a fantastic story. Of course, my beautiful wife, Melania, who happens to be the most beautiful woman on the planet and who gave birth to the most important child on Earth, perhaps since Jesus Christ, told me about “Head On” first. She said it helps to humble the ego and I could use a little bit. To appease her, I applied a truckload. It didn’t work. I wasn’t surprised. She might be the prettiest but she also has the world’s finest tiny brain. But here’s the best part, it works wonders on my hair. One pass back and forth and I get that fantastic look, that look that has the whole nation buzzing. I get pulled over on the street. All the The world wants it. Is it fantastic or what? I’m pure gold.”

Joan Rivers – “Stay away from aging, honey. A little on the forehead, a little on the cheeks, a swatch on the chin and neck, and you don’t need surgery. Have you seen me lately? I look stronger than a girl’s ass.” Thank you clam, ‘Head On’.”

Russell Crowe – “Yeah. Finally something I can throw at the paparazzi that comes with instructions. F*@k Off!”

Oh those crazy stars, they can’t help but make us smile.

Anyway, expecting to find some common thread in their answers (Paris, great fool, that means “like to be the same; like not different”), I was surprised to hear such contradictory results. The question was raised, one of them must be right, but who?

To find out the truth, I went directly to the manufacturer. At first they gave me quite a spin. Apparently, it’s a well-kept secret. Well, they underestimated this brain. It just took a little ingenuity and perseverance. Posing as a jobless undocumented worker from the country of New Jersey, I got the inside scoop from senior shipping clerk, Robby Bob Roberts, during my job interview with him. But instead of telling you what Rob Bob said, I’ll let the star, who got it right, tell you in his own words.

Anne Heche – “Blocks the gravitational pull of abduction beams emitted by alien spacecraft.”

Of course it does! Anne, if anyone should have known, it’s you.

The next time the ad appears, take a close look at it. You will slap your forehead in disbelief from Anne-Heche-is-God. Thanks Anne, and thanks Rob Bob for enlightening us!

To the other stars: next time you’re near a UFO, you crazy kids, please don’t use the product.
